One Way To Pass Time Waiting For 1.1

<div class="IPBDescription">New Type of game</div> As we sit and wait patiently for 1.1 to be released our clan came up with a way to have fun on old maps. (We play custom maps too but 1.04 is just getting old in general.)
Since it is really popular to hide when you are the last surving marine and make the aliens hunt you down we decided to capitalize on that very idea.
We play sardines.
How to play:
1.server admin is needed for noclip
2. Everyone is in the readyroom. A person is selected to be "IT".
3.Admin noclips the "IT" and they float into the map. Then the let the admin know that they are ready to be clipped again. Then they go and hide. You would be surpirsed at all the places you can hide in most of the maps and since you cant die in the map you can fall long distances and trigger_hurts cant kill you. We play this for hours and have a blast with it. Especially since everyone can hear with voice com and such.
4.Admin noclips everyone else and everyone meets in the marine start and gets clipped again. and its game on. First person to find the person hiding gets to be "IT" next round.
Another way to play this game would be to set the sv_cheats 1 and have everyone type "invul" (A.K.A. God Mode) that way you can hide in even more places with JP and Skulks. Remember givepoints gives res in console.
This is very refreshing way to wait for 1.1

How:
<b><u>Marines:</u></b>
<ul>
<li>3 IPs are built, one armory, arms lab, and a protolab
<li>The marines cannot move from their starting position; they can only have their starting node and CANNOT attack the enemy directly
<li>The aliens must come to them and them alone.
<li>Resources can only be used to drop health/ammo, upgrade the armory, drop weapons, upgrade armor/weapons, and for researching/dropping heavy armor.
<li>ONLY heavy armor can be used; no jetpacks (you cant rush the aliens, anyways)
<li>Absolutly NO heath spam
<li>TFs can be used to build a wall, however the aliens MUST be able to get through. No CC walls, and NO electrified ANYTHING walls.
<li>NO TURRETS, AND NO SEIGES, EITHER
</ul>
<b><u>Aliens:</u></b>
<ul>
<li>They can get 3 hives and use any evolution/attack not exempt in the "Additional" section
<li>Movement or Defence first; strong attackers or fast attackers.
<li>They get all the other resource nodes and can build as much as they wish
<li>Sensory is not needed (when has it ever been?)
</ul>
<b><u>Additional:</u></b>
- The aliens must tell the marines when they have onos. When the aliens DO get onos the marines can have 10 minutes to prepare and for the aliens to ALL go onon/fade/lerk. This also lets the marines get Heavy armor and HMG/Shotty/GL and welders for as many people as possible.
- Spores cannot be used
- Xenocide cannot be used
-edit- after a specified and agreed amount of time the marines can attack the aliens and play as normal. No JP rush is allowed, though. (it'd just be suicide)
Basically the marines see how long they can last against the aliens until the "time's up" and they can play as normal again.
What it teaches:
Teaches the marines how to survive with minimal resources and to make the best of a bad situation.
Teaches the aliens how to crack a thick base defence quickly or in the best way possible.

I can tell you never actually played this.
What would be really better is a SST themed NS fun map.... Rico and the Rough Necks!
Basically a HA/HMG with some GL/Shotty support of about 4/5 players can take down 2 onoses <i>i think</i>.
Also once time is up they can put down turrets, so that'd be good, too. Aliens still cant use xeno or spore, if you want to.
knife duels are really fun <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> sv_cheats and tournament mode on (so you can both/all join the same team) .. then turn off cheats so no one goes 'invul'
