    Huh? The first picture is very bright on my monitor. I did brighten them up in PS.

    I think that you could probably do with adding some more detail to the walls and some floor lighting, but other than that its certainly a good start.

    I like what you have going, but both the floor and ceiling needs more architectural detail... you could have dark, vaulted ceilings and grate floors with dark, backlit areas underneath.

    I am pretty out of polys in that area. If you stand at one point, the engine renders 600 polys. I could add some pipes to the ceiling though. It's supposed to be the storage section, so it's not the Sydney Opera.

    Its nice...but...could it be any darker?  <!--emo&:0--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'><!--endemo-->

    AUIGH! My eyes burn! Heh, the pumped-up contrast makes those lights very painful to look at. I like the mood of the scene though, and I don't think it's bad if the map has some areas really dark like that, just not everything.

    Good work so far.  <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

    You bunch of wimps!
    You call that dark?
    HA! Never played an unreal darkmatch?
    Kids, hmmpf!
    Besides i really don't think it's 2 dark, perhaps it's my monitor or my card?

    Now when I see the shots on my other computer, I think they are very bright. But, they are brightned up, so...

    When I first started mapping for NS everyone said my maps were too dark.  They looked fine for me.  So I adjusted my monitor to 50% brightness, set the gamma adjust in HL to 50% and was plunged into darkness.

    When I re-lit my maps so I could see again everyone said it was now much better and I get no comments about brightness.

    I Still have to tweak the Gamma on my screenshots though becasue HL screenshots don't include any gamma setting (apparently).

    To cut a long story short adjust all your brightness settings to average now and save hassle later.

    i suggest you play with the gamma a bit.  the colors could look so much cooler.

    Yeah, it's just a very early version of the map. I haven't started playing with env_gamma yet. I added some pipes to break up the monotonity by the way.

    Looks nice, very dark indeed. Maybe a bit too here and there? I definatly like the textures you picked, nice going there! The lighting is very ominous (however you spell that word). Maybe some broken lights here and there too?

    Can't wait for more screenies Yolmer!

    Broken light are a good idea. Will do.
