Y0 quick question cuz this is the only part of the forum that I post in... why do you care if my sig is 44 kb When it's hosted on my own site?

    The reason why sigs are limited to 22k isn't because of forum bandwidth (can you still host sigs locally off the fourms? I thought that was taken out >_<), but to alleviate the load times for modem users who frequent these boards. With the amount of traffic the NS forums get, the mods are very strict on sig size for that reason.

    think cause it needs to be also loaded with the page...

    => bad for 56k-ers <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Jaeger is correct. Regardless of where the file is hosted, loading a 1MB (random number) image file every time you view a page makes modems cry. Therefore, we ask that you keep signature images under 22kb in size. Regarding pixel size, tall signatures make the forum annoying to read; you spend more time scrolling past sig images than reading posts.

    In the future, please PM a moderator if you have a question about the forum rules.
