Thanx much, that will end a lot of heacaches in the future. I knew that you only had to click on a person's name/near their name in the scoreboard to mute them in HL and MODs(very useful in TFC), but I didn't know how to mute in NS because plain clicking doesn't work. Sadly I can't stand playing with a girl on the voice comm, because every teenager on the server immediately starts asking, "So where are yooooooou from? How old are you? What etc, etc" As if these things were suddenly common etiquette for an NS server, in the hopes that they can live out their pubescent gamer-women fantasies. If the girls an attention **** she can giggle, if not she'll probably get fed up and leave, vowing never to use voice comm on that server again.
It makes me wonder if all these fed up girls have made some Amazon server somewhere to avoid the frothing hordes of geeks? If so I'd like its IP.

My little brother plays NS, and he has the same rights as you to use voice... And he's not one of those stupid people that spamms "Hey I'm funny and stupid"
When they hear a normal, non-“I am 13 and rule the world with my foul mouth and screaming,” they get the two confused and generally don’t want to listen because it is just assumed that if you are under X age then you are a fool. Then again, sometimes its just annoying to have a noise that high booming in your ear -- sometimes I had to mute younger guys becuase their voice just didnt go to well with my headach.
I can't stand the younger guys' voices - something about their high pitched whine really irritates me for some reason. That and the fact that the irritatingly high pitched voice is usually accompanied by unreasonable demands and requests, over and over and over again. Thankfully these guys are few and far between on the servers that I play on.
Never heard a female over voicecomm in NS, but maybe thats just cause I'm in Australia and our female gaming community is nowhere as large as elsewhere..
However I do like the occasional chat in the ready room, sometimes it can be humerous to sit there and have a yarn.. although I can see how it becomes annoying (Personally I hate listening to other peoples music through voicecomm). I don't mind if people have a general chat though, as long as it's mildy interesting.
you forgot about those tards that love to play their annoying little midi's over voice comm.
Yes, I do wish that muting would be simplier in NS. My mind is trained so that the second i go on a counter-strike server, everyone instantly gets muted, lol. I cant wait for that feature in 1.1, that should help out a lot with the llamas.

Erm, not sure if i'm the only one, but all i hate to do to mute people is hold TAB then click the mouse to get the pointer. What's all this toggletips thing about, i've never used that.
It seems that playing music over the mic is becoming more and more popular every day. Not long after I had posted my last reply on this thread, I was on a server where everyone was pretty quiet until you hear "Cant touch this", followed by the rest of that particular MC Hammer song.

I've got a few Blackadder and Star Trek quotes, as well as a BTTF one all in HLSS... Only to be used on "funmaps", in the ready room or very very occasionally in-game. I'm no spammer.
whoah, people talking on a public. who cares ... losers care.
mute isnt hard and people have every right to enjoy their game as much as you, decent players can have a random convo and still kill more than the rest of their team. If you dont like it, mute it. those VALUABLE minutes dont mean squat in a public so SUYF and get on with it.
its people like you that whinge and **** at casual players that ruin the game.
I mute all annoying players immediately (toggleeditps bind <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->)and often entire team. Some weeks ago I noticed that i had most of regular players on all Finnish servers muted. This leads to another problem when they have something really important to say and they dont have time to type it.
This really hinders teamwork so I have to keep unmuting people. I just dont remember to do it every time. --> 0mG u |\|00b w|-|y DidN7 Y0u H31P M3?!!!!!1!11

There is a scoreboard, it simply doesn't show kills. Instead, it orders people depending on their kills, shows class (onos, heavy, gestating, dead), and player names. Muting will not require toggleeditps.

The more people there are the less I use my mic. If there is only like two other guys on my team, I'm going to use mic a lot, especially if I'm gorge or comm. The more teammates you have the less important communication is because things just happen way too fast and decisions are made so randomly that the mic loses strategic value.
