Well, I've read the faq several times, and it doesn't mention anything about how the commander is chosen.
I suppose I should do my research right?

Although he can be voted out of his role as far as i know. How this voting works, I don't know...

Welcome, pheonix`ignition.
The question was answered in the post there, but I'm assuming you want an explanation for the reaction? Well, heh.. it's probably just the fact that the information asked is really well known among a lot of us, and those who answered probably assumed the info was in the FAQ because of this. I'm not going to check all the various FAQs around here, but I'm guessing maybe it wasn't in there. Did you try all of them, such as the forum faq, the main page faq, the readyroom.org faq, etc? At any rate, if it's not in there I'm sure it was an honest mistake, and absolutely no harm or hostility was intended.
For the record though, there is a building type thing called the "commander console", and when one of the marine players "uses" the console, he suddenly takes the role of the commander with an overhead view and all. Only one person may "enter" the console at a time, and in all my time playtesting, I've yet to see a fight over the position. Then again, I'm not very observant.
Hope that helped.

I'm lazy so I'll just pretend its in one of em somewhere.
Oh wait, that was the problem to begin with. Nevermind.
Thanks for the welcome though.
Still, those who say read the faq should still post an answer however stupid the question is... unless its how do you set a detpack in which case redirect them.
