Im not doing too good on a mario model. At first it looked more like Bart Simpson with a red hat. Later it looked like Mister Spock. Now it looks like a mutant clown mice. That new modelling technique im triing does not work that good. I need good reference pictures in front and side view, larger than 100*100 !!!

EDIT: Change the "ACID" sprites to little "flames!", since thats what the flower shoots when you collect it! hehe, that'd be cool!! Or just change it from "green" acid to "orange"

let me "illustrate" the develpement of my mario model. I have done Head arms and hands. final model ~1800 polygons. With "bob the builder" im finally getting closer to a mario look.

After it looked like casper the friendly ghost and Floyd (from the PC adventure) I finally made it to a presentable version that looks like mario. You see 1300 polygons here.

Like someone said, make Mario used regular guns. Strangely enough, I had plans to make a game called Mario : Reloaded. If the name doesn't explain it then maybe I can - Mario and friends run around with weapons from the present, and shoot the crap out of eachother. Think Conker's Bad Fur Day. But then I realized I had no way to get milkshape so I scrapped the idea. I think the problem with your mario model is mostly in the hat... it needs to be thicker and poofier so it doesn't look like he's missing half of his head. It also needs to bulge out a little at the sides.
