I don't think so, because there are many NS specific entities that would be absent (Resource nodes, commander thing, etc.).Unless it was like fy_iceworld for CS (which I think is one of the dumbest maps ever, and is just short of a Q2 killbox), where they just killed eachother with all necessary weapons laying around (But I don't think that would work either, as there are no weapon ents)
2fort wouldn't work anyway, since the aliens need three bases that are roughly equidistant from the Marines' base, and 2fort only has it's two distinct "forts".
I don't mean any offense, but I'd probably *hate* to see something like dust or 2fort in NS. Leaving aside the fact that both of those maps would have serious layout issues as an NS map, I don't think there's much space for novelty maps in NS. That may sound weird coming out of the guy who made itsame, but hey, NSTR and Flaytona don't count Besides, it sounds like you're fairly new to mapping, and if you are (which is OK) it's probably best to start with a mod besides NS, maybe just HLDM. NS mapping is MUCH more difficult than standard Half-life mapping because of all the alien abilites, layout ideas, and commander issues that may pop up. Trust me, you have to learn to walk before you can run in mapping, and NS is the equivalent of the New York Marathon
I'm going to have to agree with Rhoads on this one. There has been no other mod like NS (To my knoledge) and therefore, not maps made that would fit the NS "feel". There were a few fun novelty maps in CS (Deagle Warehouse, Rats) but I don't think the same thing would work for NS. Maybe a few of the AvP2 maps would work however but alas, the aged HL engine is no match for the mighty Lithtech.
i liked cs_prospeedball s:/ BTW you -can't- stop people from making custom maps...Tho i know what you mean, i wouldn't want to see NS turn in a DM mod cuz of popular custom maps (ns_speedball for example)
You can still MAKE dumb maps, just don't expect to see them in the first release.
actually from a code standpoint you COULD block any maps except for ones matching the filename and CRC check of maps you include in your release. Nobody is gonna do that, I'm just saying its possible :)

The name ns_speedball also comes to my mind ...
Flayra, I officialy beg for some kind of feature that will disable 'custom maps'.
