Maybe I've been following this mod for too long to get the "newbie" experience, but I've noticed that a LOT of the new posts in the ideas forums are locked.
most of the posts in ideas forum are made by people when they first join the NS community, and, despite the innumerable FAQs and subjects asking to search for past posts on a topic before you post, people are writing about the same things:
"lets puts tanks and cars in here!" been discussed WAAAY too much
"how about having player controlled turrets?" I remember several threads on that subject
"let the marines be able to use a mech" isn't that a vehicle with legs?
"The aliens should have some special kind of vision that lets the marines stand out" already in... or didn't the person go to the RR and read the current features list?
now, some people may have read all the FAQs and feature lists, and since it's been a long while since they've been updated, perhaps what they posted about wasn't in the material they read, but still, if its been announced at some point a forums search would turn up all the info on it.
so PLEASE! all the new people in this community, READ, SEARCH, and THINK about what your going to post before you actually do- it'll keep your thread from becoming locked, and keep you in the good graces of the forum admins.
now excues my hypocritical arse as I go to bed <--- yes, there was a post like this made a while ago asking people to do the same thing I'm asking them to do, and since I'm breaking my "search" thingy it makes me a hypocrit. so hit me with "T3h l337 7r0u7 0f D347h" please!
