<div class="IPBDescription">Just changed video cards...</div> I recently upgraded from a ATI Rage Pro to a GeForceFX 5600 256mb
Installation started smooth and everything. But the instant I tried to use any video game be it NS or WC3 it would crash with a run time error or simply lock up. I got a driver cleaner. Cleaned all videocard drivers. Reinstalled. Nothing. Fiddled with the AGP setting from 4x and 2x to 1x
Still nothing.
I can't even run movies or music through windows media player it's that borked.

My system specs are

AthlonXP 1900+
GA-7VTX Motherboard
1gig of DDR Ram
Maxtor 80gb HD

Any help would be appreciated

    Need the precise runtime error if possible. Since it happens to all your games and not just NS, I'm going to nudge you over to teh ATI support guys <a href='http://www.ati.com/support/' target='_blank'>here</a> though. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    If it's a brand new card and has no sucessful history of use yet, you could always take it over to a friend's house, plug it in, and see if it works. Then you will no for sure if it's a problem with your PC, or just that card.

    It's a long shot, but maybe your power supply doesn't supply enough power? I know that GeforceFX's use a lot of power. How many watts is your's? I heard 350 W is a good bare minimum.

    Oh, yeah, you could always use MonsE's tried and true test it on another computer method. Why didn't I think of that...

    I hadn't thought of the power thing, actually. Not a bad call Di. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
