Hard Drive Problem
We just had a freak power outage (no storms or anything; power just went *bloop* and it was gone), so I immediately turned off the computer's power strip that eveything is plugged into. Power came on, then went off. Now it's on again, and probably isn't going anywhere. However, now that the computer is on, I've got a problem: It won't recognize my second hard drive that I installed a few months ago. It's like G: isn't there. Things are REAL screwy in Tycholand: it's like I'm on a battleship that's sinking, but the battleship is my computer. Happily, my OS is safely on C:, along with a lot of other stuff, but I'm worried about G:. Is it possible to get it back, maybe with data intact? I'd like it either way. Any help?

Check all the cables connected to the HDD.
Check the jumpers.
Check the... Integrity...
Check the disk for partitions with FDISK...
Now, these are all highly unlikely to be of any help, but...
If all else fails and the disk is "dead", try to install it onto another computer and if it's dead there too, take it to a hardware service store and they can get the data back for you... For a fee, of course...

Integrity?
I might as well check, but it's highly unlikely a power outage disloged cables
On a side note:
My last HDD broke down for previously unknown reason... It just stoped working. And the cause was a factory format bug. I just had to do a low-format (the factory format) and it worked ever since.
But I didn't have a problem with recognising the HDDs... Sorry...
I'm going to try a bunch of stuff (i.e. anything I can to see if the computer will recognize it), then I'm going to call around to see if anyone does data recovery cheap.
