<div class="IPBDescription">Don't worry, i'm re-installing it :)</div> I have a problem.
For a while, half-life would not run. I tried re-installing it multiple times and each time it got worse (i.e, at first it only crashed 50% of the time, then 100% of the time, then I recieved 3 error messages instead of one...). Eventually I found out the problem was I hadn't Defragged in 8 months. So I defragged and started half-life. The same illegal operation. Then I re-installed half-life. It worked! So then I installed NS.
It didn't work.
I think the problem is that I hadn't removed NS properly in the first place (its still in the add/remove programs list and if i click it it says "this is your only chance to cancel, pressing OK will delete the NS software". But if I click it, it says "all NS files deleted", yet it still appears in the menu)
I think that whilst half-life is running a post-defrag version, NS is still trying to run a pre-defrag version due to some left-over bits I can't find. Any idea where to find these bits?

ok, here is the deal, in order to get all of that stuff away (ALWAY, ALWAYS, ALWAYS use add/remove programs when getting rid of something) You would have to use regedit to poke through your registry to find all occurences of NS and manualy dell them (this is a stupid thing to do if you do'nt know what you are doing, especialy how NS is referd to as NS often in files, yah 2 letters, not to obvious wich to delete now is it).
ok, we will try and fixe your problem, though I would honestly say no might be a good time to reformat/reinstall. so here is the deal:
FULL SYS SPECS(CPU, HDD, OS, RAM, Vid/sound cards, HL/CS/DoD)
EXATLY what these error msgs are (scrn caps or cut and paste, your choice)
so, we will help if we can, GL mate.
