Idiot Marines

dont you just hate it when youre comm, and you're trying to get some res nodes in a pub and your marines keep dieing, and then theres always a few that just sit at base and the rest of them just run out and shoot wildly not hitting anything. Then they complain and whine about it saying they cant kill anything cuz the aliens have lvl 3 carapace and how marines have nothing cuz all they do is die. Then they tell you to get HMG/JP and once you do they just sit at base and keep saying "jp at base" "hmg at base" and all they do is ask for ****. So then it finally drives you crazy and you drop some, they fly out and die and respawn waiting at base yelling "comm i need a jp hmg". you tell them to follow orders and go to some res node or hive or sometihng and they wont do it, so you start yelling "HO HMG JP" and then marines start saying "comm isnt giving out hmg/jp eject him" "EJECT COMM he wont give nething!" and stupid things like that.. i hate how marines think they are in charge... marines shoudl follow comm, and request a hmg/jp if they see they have the res or if they KNOW they can kill something and not just be stupid and hold space bar and hold themselves into the ceiling.. they should get it if the comm feels they deserve it.

one time i was commin and this guy wuld sit at base by my comm chair and he would request hmg and jp alll the time, cuz each time i gave him 1 he went out, didnt follow orders, and died... so then he was saying for me to get out of chair for a sec.. i assume so he could drop himself some gear and go die again. but i never got out, then he was telling everyone to eject me cuz i wuldnt hand out stuff, luckily other marines werent such noobs that they were saying how he just sat in base and didnt do nething neway.. the guy just kept telling people to eject me but people just said how dumb he was..

who else hates that crap
ya so i never play on that serv nemore, neone got some good ones?

Change servers is the only tip I can give to you.

Suggest you look at the server forum, or the many "omg! need a non-n00b server" threads. But no server is immune to incomptent n00bs; I just got ejected the other day because I recycled the armory and dropped it in the alien hive since noone would go through the phasegate... the regulars thought it was comedy gold, the n00bs ran for the ejection button + their typical name calling.

Sounds like you're one of those commanders who sends 2 marines to cap a node, and screams at them when they die to five skulks, I have little sympathy for you.

Has no one learned that if you comm in a public game your expectations should be very low? If you are disapointed by your marines something is wrong with you.

I tend to hold out on my marines when it comes to equipment(Though I only comm on occasion, when nobody else wants to sit in that cushy chair)...I've lost too many games to the phenomenon known as "big gun syndrome". Many times I'll decide the time is ripe for bringing out the big guns. The little nubrines are good about it for awhile. They go and kill the 2nd hive, but then wander off and die alone. Ten minutes later, I'm equipping a guy for the 5th time, when I notice the hive being gorge rushed. I tell them to go through the phase. Most of the team is off ramboing, the few in base are humping the armory or welding each other.
We lose the hive, everyone tries to be the hero who takes out the aliens last hive single handedly. They all die with our last high end equipment, the base gets onosified, and the last 5 minutes are left hunting for the few guys who saved their jetpacks at the cost of losing the last marine hive.

I can't really comment on that, since I neverr command. What I hate is commanders who can't for the love of god understand why their marines sometimes get owned. I mean, a Starcraft marine will neverr die to a single zergling, so why do sometimes TWO marines get eaten by a single skulk just after the comm dropped an rt? There is only one possible explanation for this: They are doing it on purpose, to **** off the comm! And so these comms whine and nag and scream and holler and call all the marines names, when they should actually just get on with it. What I mean is that a marine should NEVERR have to make excuses as long as he's doing what the comm says and is doing his best. If there is one thing I hate it is when the comm sends me somewhere, and I stay in base a short while to see if I can get some marines to follow me. The comm then starts nagging me by giving me the waypoint over and over, and finally I wander off alone (there, ya happy now?). I go to the resnode he wanted me to go to, he drops an rt, I start building it, and halfway through get eaten by a skulk. My mistake here is obvious: I failed to kill the skulk, getting killed myself in the process. Dying at the hands of a better player is nothing you have to be ashamed of though, so why is he blaiming ME when HIS mistake was to send me off all alone? When I wander off alone as a gorge, do I blame the skulks if I get slaughtered by a random marine? No. If I were screaming for an escort for a minute or two, THEN perhaps I have the right to complain. Finally, marines can't read the mind of the comm. Unless he states his plans to the marines he wants to execute them, how are those marines supposed to know what he wants?
In summary: Commanders, if the aliens own you despite you and your team trying to prevent it, ADMIT defeat, instead of blaming your fellow marines just to save your face.

Final words: I am not pointing fingers at anyone specific here, just at a general type of commander. If someone starts flaming me for this, they are doing exactly as those commanders would.

I spell "neverr" with two r's as it is currently being censored with "sometimes". Wacky swearfilters.

Well, sounds like it was summed up pretty well somewhere along the line.
Marines, your job is to listen to the Commander. Go to your waypoints, or where you're told to go. Even if you're alone, with an un-upgraded LMG, it's your job to do the best you can. Don't whine for gear... about the most you should do is a polite 'If we have the RP to spare, I'd do well with a shotgun, Comm'. But RESPECT IT if he doesn't drop you one. That means the RP are going SOMEWHERE ELSE, such as to another expansion, or tech upgrades.
Additionally, you MAY not be the only one sent to a given waypoint.. even if it looks like you're going solo. They may have just ignored it. But if no one ignored it, you wouldn't be alone, would you?
And if you WRE sent there solo, either the Comm thinks you can handle it, or you are a DISTRACTION. So do your best in any case. You'll probably die, but you'll buy the time your team needs to get something done.

Marines are a gestalt entity. Comm is the brain. Grunts are the body. He thinks, you do. If everyone grasped this concept instead of trying to armchair-comm, or treat it like countersuck (jphmgplzkthx!!!11!!!oneone!!), then it *might* be seen that the Marines are a lot more powerful than they seem to be right now.

Though really... there've been a LOT of threads like this one, airing dirty laundry about frustration with their team in general, or a specific set of people. And they pretty much all suffered the same fate as this one did.
