Also, I think I heard something about Half-Life 2 in there at the begining.

it's running on a heavily modified UT2k3 engine.
I much prefer the HUD in the original Deus Ex.
I will actually do that as soon as those *#~ß}s manage to restore their files
Example: While seeing those laser obstacles, he declares "Deus Ex puts some emphasis on traps." Well, duh...
There are three things most might not know about, so if you don't wish to read spoilers, don't read on.

Killed critters leave radioactive marks on the ground that have to be burned away. Thus the use of the flamethrower.

The player will be able to choose sides - either the 'World Trade Organization', or fundamentalistic terrorists.

There are two scenes when the HUD suddenly changes and the whole screen goes black and white. In the first case, that's because the player managed to take the robot we saw briefly before over - apparently one must not be seen for this to work -; in the second case, the player shoots two camera guided missles.
All other information conveyed within, p.e. that the player can either play as male or female, should be known to everyone who wants to know them.
All in all, pretty impressive. I had feared that DX2 would suffer from the same problem its precessor did (bland texturing), but it looks as if they remedied that. The weapons don't exactely look great, but honestly, I don't care. Seeing my playing style, I won't have to watch them for long, anyway.
bah why WTO? i want unatco again! they were the coolest
because mine was a rip so the timing in the sequences was very wrong and couldnt complete(missing voices are bad it seems)
MUST you be captured? or can you take that chopper behind them instead?

Well what more do you expect for stealing the game.

You do have to be captured. Even if you make it out of the hotel and save your bro, Gunther and Co. are waiting for you at Battery Park. The map is designed so that you have no choice but for Gunther to own you (you can't run away to the chopper). Gunther is also invincible - I found an exploit where if you shoot Gunther before he gets a chance to talk to you, the factions get all screwy and the bots around him start shooting him. He took 5 minutes of fire from four bots before he chased me down - he can't be killed there.
As for the DX2 engine, it uses a heavily modified UT2k3 engine with the physics engine ripped out and replaced with the Havok engine. While not as uber as the HL physics engine, it's still very powerful.
Havok not as good as the Half life 2 physics engine? Clickeh

I'm definately going to read a few reviews before I buy it now.
