Both are composers.

Taproot. They have a nice heavy distinct sound, and their vocals/lyrics are just amazing.

Joe Hisaishi composes mainly symphonic pieces for nearly all of Studio Ghilbi films (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, etc)

Yoko Kanno composes an extremely wide variety of styles. She composed music for such series as Cowboy Bebop (and the movie), The Vision of Escaflowne (and the movie), Arjuna, Please Save my Earth, Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex, Wolf's Rain (Just to name a few ;p)
