deja vu. i was thinking about that yesterday night before i went to bed. give it an m-16 buttstock, and a carry handle...and it will look a lot like what i imagined. except mine had a more sphere like foward assist, that split in the middle, revealing exactly that current foward grip.
...
*creepy* but cool. I'd use it for an LMG, yup. and the gauss rifle as an HMG. that would be uber.

Only positive replies so far.... only one catch... if imgoing to model it I want to be sure someone will mesh it for me... already made 3 models for ns without anyone willing to mesh them (ok, they were a bit high poly but I will do my best to keep the polycount down on this one... therefor the hard shapes...

If there is anyone willing to mesh it I will start modeling the rifle tomorrow

Take a look at the Car15 for the butt, it has a really nice butt on it. I check it out from time to time.

Modelling it? I'm modelling it myself. What I need is someone to mesh it and probably someone to skin it to.

[EDIT]
Oh... and the triggers... the front one is for the nade launcher.

The AR-15 buttstock isn't something I really like. Its adjustable, yes, but its not as stable a firing position as the M-16 solid arsestock. It looks like it would be good for an HMG replacement too. I know! AR-15 arse stock for the LMG replacement, and then HMG will have an M-16, along with a foward grip handle that isn't 90 degrees straight down, but maybe 45-70 degrees angled towards the user. Like on the M-60A3. Yes...
...
And yes Chubbie, the Gauss Rifle is being made, slowly and surely. Jamil showed us a screenie of what he has done so far. It looks satisfactory. I just hope skinning it is all that needs to be done. He also said that if you wanted to talk to him more about it, go to the IRC channel.

OK... some progress update. Note that the Grenadelauncher & Pipes are place holders and will be re-modeled to lose some polys.

Looks more and more like a futuristic version of the M-16 I'd say. give it an M-16 20 round mag (The straight one, not the banana clip), and an M-16 foward sight (the little triangle thing on the barrel). I love this! It might just replace the Pulse Rifle I've been using for such a long while as an LMG.

OK... thats it for today... will continue towmorrow or maby tonight...
I will reconsider all of your ideas for the model and try different variants to get a balance between good looks and polycount...

I will consider that sweet name for the rifle, it sound like a mix between a stoner and a sort of bread.
