doesn't work?
I just came home with a MX500 (logitech). I went to configure MOUSE5 (forward button for web browsing) to jump and MOUSE4 to duck (backward button for web browsing) and did not work. I went thre my config.cfg and it is there. Is there any mouse configurating I need to do to enable these buttons to work with ns?

Wow, I JUST answered this yesterday. Remember kids, Logitech MouseWare is the DEVIL!
Even if your mouse buttons work with the new MouseWare, it is still the devil. MouseWare changes the way Windows (XP, at least) gets mouse movements. Basically, it uses it's own program to interpret mouse movements (called em_exec.exe, you should have it running as a process if you have MouseWare), which is about 12903810923809 times less accurate than DirectInput (a module of DirectX).
Even without MouseWare installed, your 2 side buttons will still work in Windows as Internet Back/Forward buttons, however the very top button (the "switch program" button) does not work. But, who can reach that anyway?
mouse1 = left mouse button
mouse2 = right mouse button
mouse3 = press on the scroll.
mouse4 = the bottom side button (large one, down, backwards....)
mouse5 = the top side button (smaller one, up forwards....)
mwheelup = both the mousewheel up or the top cruise control. Leaving cruise control on is like scrolling the wheel.
mwheeldown = both the mousewheel down or the bottom top cruise control. ^what I said there again.
The last button isn't used, but as it has been said, who uses it?
(this is given as though you didn't install MouseWare, which is really awful)
I have the Logitech MX 700, which is basically identical to the MX500 except for cosmetic changes, plus it's wireless.
I tried using MouseWare to play NS, but I found that MouseWare bastardizes the acceleration settings so bad I couldn't shoot straight.
I am now currently using the default WindowsXP mouse drivers. Everything works except the quick-task button. Cruise control buttons work, forward/back side buttons work, mousewheel works, it's all good. I can even bind MOUSE4 and MOUSE5 ingame.
