    Most people (vets/pt's) have been saying around 120mb

    [EDIT] btw this has been posted several times since the release date was announced, try searching for the threads <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Some ppl have modems m8, and they aren't really waiting to d/l another FULL game of 120 mb

    I'll probably have it within 15 mins, but 56k users (and there are quite alot of them) will need days <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Yup, I totally agree, it's not like you're not going to download it just because it's 300mb (which I hope it won't be <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)

    Speak for yourself; I know I wouldn't bother trying to download a 300mb file, whether it's NS v2.0 or not. /:

    If it was over 150mb, I probably wouldn't d/l NS 2.0.

    I have 56k so i guess it'll take around 9 hours then. Well i can leave it downloading and go to college, that's a good reason to turn up. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I don't see any reason not to download it though, however large the file....that's what resuming programs are for. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    But how big will the update from 1.0 to 2.0 be?

    I think that's what they're already talking about.

    I love how stupid you people are. When someone asks a question, you have to all congrigate and scream "OMG SEARCH THEW FOURMS N00B USE THE SEARCH SEARCHIDY SEARCH SEARCH" where in about 30 keystrokes you could have simply replied "120 meg, 5 meg, 200 meg" or "bout half a gig"

    And even when it isnt a simple answer, nearly half the posts are absolutly worthless "OMG SEARCHIDY SEARCH" posts... sometimes people make a topic and ask a question for a reason.

    just have a friend burn it onto a CD for you (someone who has cable) of you can buy the cd off of fileplanet which they sell in honor of the 56k "guild" <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Should be a bit over the playtest files (which iirc was 120) as playtesters and vets dont have all the files needed, such as server-sided files.

    Expect 120+ megs, perhaps 150? Somewhere in that range.

    I just realized something. I know a lot of players are cursed with dial up. Anyone else interested in burning the download for these kids so they can save themselves some headache. I know i wouldn't mind slaggin a couple of cds for people if it would help the commnunity. Also cds are reallly cheap to send.

    anyone else thinks this is a good idea? I figured if each bb user burnt two cd and sent em out we would be able to hook up every single dial up user. Also it would help get new members. Cause after that they can give the cd to their friends and they can install it and pass it on.

    Any thoughts?

    well it will release on alot of major d/l sites that do that kind of thing so they would probably get it there incase there was any foul play happening (im not accusing you of course <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->) and i recommend Download Accelerator Plus... it lets you resume and goes alot faster

    I understand your trepidation. I got the idea cause i've started handing out copys of the game to friends to try and get them interested. Also file planet lets you order specially made cds with files of your choosing for pretty cheap.

    I don't care how big it is, i'm a crazy mofo. I downloaded the DOOM III alpha on my 56K, it took 23 Hours (350Megs).

    the fact of thematter is that flayra is the only one, monse maybe too, that knows the true current full file size.

    also, the fact remains that weither you know the size now or in 1 month will change absolutly nothing. If you are on dialup, all it does is to support the fact that you will have to download a huge file in the near future. What good is that. Time to plan a friend to do it? seriously if you need a month to plan that out you need something else to do with your time. It's not that hard to go "hey buddy can you grab this for me on july 31st, its kindabig for me, not sure exactly how big but the last version was kinda large"

    asking for the size really is a moot point.

    Oh boo hoo. People make 56k out to be so bad. Havent you people ever heard of download programs? Downloading a 300mb file would only take 3 nights. Just leave your comp on while you sleep to dl, wake up and stop the download then resume at night again.

    I'm gonna say this once, it's been said a thousand times before....

    <b>THERE WILL BE NO 1.0 -> 2.0 UPGRADE PATCH!</b>

    Too much has changed.

    And it'd reduce board clutter if people used the little search box at the bottom. Is it SO HARD to type in your request and get your answer? If only I were a moderator...
