An Idea For The Low Poly Marine Weapons

<div class="IPBDescription">Shamefully Ripped from TS2 and Goldeneye</div> Now the goal of Low Poly models is to have a good looking model with the lowest amount of polys. Now I'm not modeller so I'm not sure if this will work but I'll put it up anyway.
Now the basic idea comes from Timesplitters 2 and Goldeneye. In these games the guns seem "suspended" in mid-air (IE no arms or hands). Now this is good for one thing. No Hands/Arms. Which I suppose also means less polys.
No the other Idea taken from this is a modification of the reload. In Goldeneye and Timesplitters 2 the gun dissappears off the screen while you reload. Now if the model could do this. (And make sounds as its reloading just so you know where you are!) There would be no need for Hands/Arms and therefore less polys. (And less moving bits)
Now I'm no modeler but I'm sure removing the arms from thing like the Pistol/LMG/HMG/GL would be a good idea? The only exceptions being the HMG and welder where there the hands/arms aren't in view much.
If you've played Goldeneye or Timesplitters you will probably understand what I'm talking about. If not I recommend you play these games because you are missing out!

(a) Cuts around 900 polys off the polycount (i.e. halves it for the average model)
(b) Makes animation MUCH easier
that would look wierd
then does that mean that when u play ns its going to be like doom2 or duke 3d ? but way smoother cause of less textures ?
