Hi, I am thinking about making websites for people whether its for their clan, or for something else. I am currently making a website for a CounterStrike clan (will be uploaded soon), it is quite plain but I aint getting paid for it. I am just wondering if people are interested in me making websites for them. I wont make a website that wont get hosted properly i.e. no geocities, etc. I've asked a couple of people and they said it is fair to charge 1 pound per MB, so this is what I may go with. Other ideas i may consider, within reason.

If this goes through it will be a first come first server and you WILL have to on a waiting list.

EDIT : Keep in mind this can help me for a portfolio for when and if i want to go professional.

Can we see a portfolio? How about references to sites you've already done?

    What tools do you use?

What kind of experience do you have?

What languages do you know (PHP, ASP, mySQL, et cetera)?

[EDIT] Also, bear in mind a tight website with well compressed images will only total up to about 1mb. You stand to make NO profit whatsoever in charging that amount. Whoever told you that £1 per 1MB was trying to mug you badly. [/EDIT]

What would you suggest for a price, if this gets underway?

Well i started off for the website alternative to sexual favours really. Stuff like domains, professional web hosting, even free alcohol. It was more about the love of designing as opposed to the money. Work your name up, get respect and a reputation, then you can charge pretty much what you like <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Right now i'm only in a little design company, contracts vary between ?5,000-?10,000, which is pretty small for web design, but as i said, it's just for experience, and to pass time before my degree.

    [EDIT]
Itchy posting finger.... Also, it would +really+ help people if you posted screenshots or URLs to previous projects you've done, released or unreleased it doesn't matter (as long as it doesn't violate any contract / NDA or whatever).

Rather than saying "do you want a website?" it's better to say "Look at my stuff, do you want me to do a website?"
