Isn't that just the texture you've applied to it. that crappy HL standard chrome style. At least i thought that's what it was. There are Ns textures with white looking scratched edges you can use and the clear parts are black.

i'm not a mapper but thats what i was talking about.. how its all striped. Don't you have to apply a texture and the darker parts of the texture you apply are transparent. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> i dunno man. wait till a pro comes to save the day.

try messing with its FX amount. 0 = opaque, 255 = clear. That being said, start with say....245 and work up towards 255 from there.

scale the texture larger or use a better one.

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, but if you're talking about the stripes on the glass, that's just the texture.

You might also be talking about the less transparent, "darker" section of the glass right around the corners where the panes meet. This is caused by being able to see through two pieces of glass at the same time, thus decreasing the amount of transparency overall. To fix this, you need to either shorten some of the pieces of glass so they don't overlap, or bevel the edges so that they're slanted, so that the small edges touch each other fully and at a 45 degree angle. Then, apply the NULL texture to these edges so that you can't see them.

May I also point out that, in general, couches textured with the HL couch texture = bad.

Oh...whoops...the glasses were over each other...
What would make good chair textures?

If you want to make COMPLETELY transparent glass use the BLACK texture on all sides. It will still have bullet holes and spark when you fire at it and of course it will still break but it will be completely invisible.

Also as someone else mentioned - mess with the Render Amount Properties.

Chairs? Like what kind of chairs? To be honest with you - these aren't questions you need to be asking on a forum, figure it out for yourself. Sorry to be like that but that's how every one of us mappers did it and it works just fine. Browse through the tectures yourself, we don't have a clue what kind of chair texture you want and you do, if you want something done right do it yourself.
