Currently, going through the 'Random Team' portal will pretty much put you on aliens most of the time, because of all the people stood in the marine portal waiting until someone joins aliens.
This is because, in my opinion, marines are better than aliens in 1.04 and theremore more enjoyable to play. I have seen a plugin which turns every join team portal into a Random Team portal, but this isn't much good either, as people just wait in the ready room holding down their scoreboard button, waiting for someone to join aliens and then quickly jump into one of the portals.
I think that someone should create a plugin which disables the 'jointeamone' and 'jointeamtwo' commands, and optionally disable the 'spectate' command (except to permitted people, like server admins (to check for cheaters etc)). All portals should also be disabled (including the random team portal and spectate portal)
The plugin would quickly execute the 'autoassign' command to everybody as soon as they appear inside the ready room. This would mean that nobody would be able to pick their teams at all. The 'spectate' command can still be used when you are currenty playing on a team (I think), so permitted people would still be able to spectate using this command to check for cheaters and things.
The trouble with this is that it pretty much rules out the ready room (which is a fun place to hang out sometimes after a really long game), but there are so many servers out there which kick you for being in the ready room for more than 30 seconds (or even spectating) anyway. Consequently, I don't see too much harm in this being installed on those servers.
