Well I've played it before on a friend's laptop, and I hated it, everything is kinda small and hard to see, a laptop's graphics card usually isn't one of the best, so my general advice is, don't play NS on a laptop unless you are really desperate m8

well when I sit in my hotel room with nothing else to do than play NS and let the company pay for my internetbill you could call me desperate. well besides all this my question wasn't really about the graphicpower of a notebook which allways sucks, I know, but how it will look on a 16:9 screen

A laptop can be a great desktop replacement providing it is deisgned for gaming. I would look at Voodoo or Alienware for a gaming laptop with the latest ATI 9600 mobile GPU.

Gaming laptops have rubbish battery performance.

Battery?

YOu got to be pretty retarded if you only run it on batteries.

Haha, poor bugger.

16:9? What sort of measurement is that? 16 inches by 9 inches? Never heard of a screen being measured in those dimensions before, perhaps thats why no one has answered your question yet - they don't want to admit they dunno what it is
If you could tell me what resolution that screen supports and how big the screen is (in usual measurements please!) I'll be able to tell you how NS will look.

Cheers.

It's the measurement for 'widescreen' formats (I call it letterbox ). 16:9 is a ratio (I think).

Summary - 16:9 = Widescreen

I see, that sorta makes sense now.
My guess is, you will have black spaces around the width of the screen, unless your laptop comes with some sort of screen extension prog that works in opengl/directx.

Yea, 16:9 is a ratio. That must be widesceen there. I've played games on a laptop since like 1999. It worked great, up until I started having problems. It was 600MHz, 16MB ATi graphics card. 20-30 FPS on NS. Just make sure that laptop can bee upgraded in the future. You'll be all set then
