I hate forged stories that try to be amusing....
Real stupidity contains far greater comedic properties.
I, for one, absolutely love The Onion and find it hillarious. But i guess that's just me.
A quick search on google should show this
Robofighter? Wossat?
All the links are to copies of the same article.
check the language as well, what reputable publication would call the dead children Retards? insta-lawsuit...
Having worked in a hospital, I know that nobody would dare to speak like that about a dead child (the risk of getting sued to smithereens or losing your job is simply too great). They might very well THINK so, or say so to colleagues, but not to the media. Unh-unh. Not gonna happen.
And, we'll talk about that in the discussions forums post-2.0.
See ya there. :)
The sad thing is that it sounds believeable; I seem to remember hearing somewhere that since their release in America, the Teletubbies have been responsible for 27 deaths due to televisions falling on children while they were trying to hug the teletubbies......
Note that the teletubby-related deaths in the U.K are still at zero.... interesting.... (I wonder if that counts teletubby related suicides )
Well my point is, people are stupid. Fair enougth, those 27 children (if the figure is accurate, and I really dont think it is) were probably under 3, and so can't really be blamed for their actions, but people really ARE stupid. Don't believe me?

Note how almost all of these deaths are by men in the USA (although a disturbing percentage are in the UK...)
Sorry if this is a little.... morbid, but..... um... sorry.
The Onion provides yet another laugh

I remember a few years back there was a story on a site, "mIRC Announces 10th Registration". The whole story is gone, but I managed to find a snipplet:

QUOTE

After nearly 6 years, two million downloads and an estimated 1.8 billion connections to IRC networks around the globe, mIRC Co. Ltd announced that the number of registered copies of their flagship product has reached the elusive double-digit mark. At 7:21pm GMT, Ronnie47, who has used mIRC for less than a month, made the historic $20 purchase using his credit card. A regular chatter in EFNet's #40+chat channel, Ronnie47 believed he was required to purchase the software."
