As with LOTS of stuff that (should belong) in discussions, this can have no real resolution, even if it is thought provoking.
Sirus believes in one thing, and Aegeri believes in another. Both are equally valid beliefs. Welcome to being human.
Although I'm a Evolutionist myself, I can understand that Sirus can believe equally as hard in Creationism. Its up to each individual to interpret and decide given the information they have.
The point being, the laughter is not directed at Creationism (for the most part) but the parody of it (I get surfblocker whatever too. weird.)

For example, not to pick on Sirus but what he said here:
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->yet we're saying that it comes from the same roots as the tree in our back yard..<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Is essentially the exact same kind of statement that is parodied on that website.

Order out of chaos isn't impossible, in fact its quite common when natural processes dictate that it will occur. Crystal formation is a good example. Similarly, most of the building blocks of life have been found to be naturally occuring in the suspected environment of the early earth.
The basic tenet of faith is that it's belief in something that can't be proved. Its not an argument that can have a meaningful conclusion. Like I said earlier, the 2 viewpoints are individual choices, and as such each individual decides the given value of "true".
Oh, and just cause I love to be Devil's advocate (sorry Creationists!) I believe Sir Francis Bacon wrote about faith and logic.: He said (in terms of a formula, and accepting what we currently scientifically "know" about the world may be wrong) that:
I believe in God and die - its wrong, I lose nothing. I believe in God and die - its right, I go to eternal bliss I don't believe in God and die - it's wrong, I lose nothing I don't believe in God and die - it's right. I go to hell.
So, given 2 null values, and a choice between Heaven and Hell, which would you choose logically? Exunctly. Mind you, he also said that the point of faith was to believe in something that defies rational thought, therefore, the more ludicrous the idea, the more pious you were.
Anyway, I digress.
You can't argue fact with a Creationist. You can't argue Faith with a Evolutionist. Ridiculing either because of how they cast their vote in the argument is redundant. All it proves is that you have a closed mind.
Congratulations. You just re-enacted the exact topic that led to the first lock of Discussion.
As stated elsewhere, please try not to open cans of worms in here; and I can hardly imagine a bigger one than a creationism - evolutionism debate founded on <i>this</i>.
