ping spikes
I have a strange problem, when I'm playing games online my ping spikes up into the thousands (some of you that play with me might know what I mean). I did some trace routes and it looks like Quest is the culprit since sometimes I get much higher pings to there, and it's the first place that spikes. I was wondering if anybody else has this problem and what I should do about it. I'm on a wireless link for my internet, it's the only broadband I can get in my area so I don't really have the option of switching.

Could I get a lil help?

Oh, and if the mods feel this should be in tech support, feel free to phase. I just think I'll get better feedback in here.

    the qwestapo is the devil

their gateways and routers are under high load, since their system has much less capacity than there is demand (they probably did some statistical analysis and calculated that only a fraction of people should be using service at any one time...unfortunately, it seems that more people use it than they calculated and so bottlenecks develop). I get a minimum ping of 50 through 2 hops in qwest territory, which is terrible for dsl.

I'm not sure what you can do to fix it though.

Guess I'll just have to wait until they fix it then.....
