Whining About Teams...

I've been yelled at for the last time.
I want to talk about something that's been bothering me about a lot of the NS servers I've playing on and it's something that I've seen more and more of lately. I'll join a server, head on into the "random team" portal and start playing. Today, for example, I ended up on the alien team. The team is already pretty far ahead, they're up to 2 hives and one guy is a fade. The Marines are doing fairly well too, just starting to tech up with HMG and JP. Deciding that we want to contian the marine team, the fade works on luring them out of the base (can't remember what map it was, the space station one) and I would (playing as skulk) jump onto their heads and mmm...good marine dinner. This happens a few more times before the marine team gets sick of not being able to get out of their base and half the team just quits. So I'm happy, thinking the game's good as over. All of a sudden, one of the marines goes,
"Teams."
I just ignore it, thinking it's some guy who'd been playing too much TFC. I continue on my way, planning my next attack.
"Teams, Misfit."
Now, I'm interested.
I ask him what he means. He tells me that I should quit the game, head back into the server, and then proceed to join the marine team because I had joined last and because the marines should always have the extra man. (There were 3 aliens and 2 marines.)
Now, maybe it's just me, but I don't see why I should have to quit a team where I've worked hard with the team and we're doing well, simply because the other team quits. In case some people didn't notice, one of the features of NS is that you can't switch teams! So, if you start out with a full team and they all quit on you because you're losing, I'm sorry, but I consider that to be your problem and not mine. Any thoughts on this? Anybody think that you should switch over to the other team? Especially so late into the game? I'm just wondering what the community thinks of this issue.

As far as this case in conserned you were in the right. The game was over imo and you should just stay Alien and win.
But for those of you who find it hard to go from winning to losing I would say the line goes pretty deap into the game. If the game reaches that time and place where someone quits the server because he knows he is on the loosing team it is too late to ask for a team change. Anytime before that, changing team is ... well, the nice thing to do.
Is it just me or does the H20 rand team not work? Every time I go alien I end up in alien... why do I get the feeling that that:s just a ply to get you into a portal? Anyways 20 seconds or so and you get into rand team anyway.
The reverse could also occur; I switch from marines to aliens and let the aliens know that most of the marine's res points are undefended and they're concentrating on getting a HA-HMG squad equipped. The aliens, knowing that a jp-hmg rush is not coming, can proceed to a far more aggressive stance, taking out the res points which I of course know the marines have taken and hopefully hitting the marine base before the lengthy technology research is completed.
I'm not saying that I WOULD tell the other team all that stuff, but I would be sorely pressed not to use it for my teams advantage. I think anyone would be in much the same situation. f you've chosen your team; stick with them, because changing just unbalances the game.
Ignore "teams" screamers when the difference is less than 8vs10 .
Dont ignore them early game.
