Yeah, I agree, my DSL was tolerable but I had to reconnect every hour because it suddenly would drop. Plus, downstream download speed was pretty slow at times. "1.5mb/s" cable works faster for me.
I suggest you check out that site. Lots of feedback on every ISP on Earth. It also can list them with a side by side comparison of their services and prices.
Personally I use Verizon DSL. It operates at or above their advertised rate. I am a content customer.
