<div class="IPBDescription">is wierd</div> When ever I am comming the black areas (where there is no ground) just turn into a kind of drag of the actual ground, which is pretty damn annoying on some maps because i can't even read the text without moving that area over some solid ground.
I've got an on-board NVIDA GeForce2, and help would be much appreciated <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

Is this on a listenserver? Or when you command on someone else's server? I've never seen that HOM effect in commander mode before, except maybe when sv_cheats were enabled and /noclip was running.
Turn off mouse trails (Might be thing with cursor)
Upgrade dX/OpenGL
Verify you are NOT running in software mode
Remove any custom things you installed.
Make sure IE windows are closed before launching NS
Maybe run a virus scan
Or a Spyware scan (Ad-Aware or SpyBot S&D)
If all else fails.. reinstall
That is weird.. never had that happen
noclip being on, even if the admins do it does some weird stuff
I'm not sure what a listen server is, but its been like that on every server ive been on..
Its been like this ever since I upgraded my comp, I cant remember if it was before that.
I'll try out Ad-Aware now.
edit: nup, no luck with ad-aware <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
Sometimes i get the things with the mouse trail, But NEVER AS BAD AS BAD AS YOU!
And im running on an old Ati rage 128 32mb <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> (OpenGL)
See if that has any effect. I only get this problem if I wonder outside of the walls.
try updating vid card drivers? possibly flash the firmware?
Tried it in D3D, same thing. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
In commander mode, the exact same problem as the original poster sometimes occurs.
NS has been reinstalled, video drivers updated, 4in1 drivers updated, problems continue.
That machine is having a lot of general windows issues atm however, I'm going to format it when I get a chance and see how I go.
pls don't piggy back on to another thread, primarily b/c it makes it harder for us to aim things directly at specific people.
So please start a new thread and give us:
System Specs (all of them)
EXACT descriptions of your problems
and try the solutions posted here (get latest drivers and use OGL)
-If you're running in D3D try switching to openGL ([edit] nevermind this one)
-Check your config for any other video cvars you might have changed
whats gl_clear "1"?
I did what you said, pielemuis, but it did nothing <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
As for the skybox thing, I'm pretty sure the same thing happens, it happens when I am in Free-Chase Camera Mode and the person im following is near the roof (below).
Nothing so far has worked, but thanks for the help anyway.
edit: would it help if i copied down part of my config? I don't know what most of them mean.

[EDIT]
I tried the gl_clear "1" thing myself and it seems it's locked to "0" for some reason (same as with r_dynamic). gl_clear 1 simply clears the buffer before drawing a frame. It should remove the HOM effect when you noclip (useful while looking for leaks in maps). Ask Flay to unlock it in the next release (if he was the one to lock it that is) ?
