Has Anyone Played/is Playing Eve Online?

A couple of questions for you.
Howdy all.

I played quite a bit of Eve online beta, and decided that I'd pre-order it. I've had it sitting in its box for a couple of months now and have neglected to install it. I really don't know the reason why, I guess its because I wasn't ready to deal with the bugs and issues that plagued the beta.

Can someone tell me if its worth playing in its current state? Have they added more content? What's the lag like? Have they adjusted the way combat works at all?

Or should I just get rid of it?
Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

If nobody responds, its for a reason.

Still, I was in the beta, and near the end it looks like a lot of bugs had been resolved. You'd be better asking on their forum.

I considered getting it since it was the first time I had seen a MMORPG in the charts (although I believe Everquest and Ultima online [yay!] were both in the charts at some point).

Then I read a review for it. It said that to begin with, mining is all you can do which consists of sitting back and watching your ship mine. Great. It also said that the combat is very predictable, and the more powerful ship always wins, regardless of tactics used.

*edit* i'm not saying the most powerful ship shouldn't win most of the time, but there should always be a chance... like there is always a remote chance that an lmg marine could kill an onos, it's just very, VERY remote in that case

I play it, theres still quite a few bugs but many of the major ones have been ironed out. Also theres lots going with my corp and the Venal Alliance so i'm hardly ever bored of it.

I heard it's everything Freelancer was supposed to be, but the economy is borked because of multiple characters. But don't trust everything I say, it's just what I heard.

Most of the bugs have been ironed out with the latest patch. Ive been keeping tabs on it since the beta...which I tested, and my brother plays it now, while I stick to games like NS. Woo for free MMORPGS!

Go ahead, install it. If you dont like it just uninstall it, the first month of the game is free anyways.

    Thanks for the replies.

Yeah I've been playing an awful lot of NS recently, getting my last fill of 1.04 'goodness' *cough*.
When 2.0 comes out I'll most likely spend most of my gaming time playing that.
I guess I'll install Eve after I get sick of 2.0 (if I ever do..)

Xiller: I realise this. You cannot post on their forums until you've activated your account, which means wasting your 30 days free game time just to find out whether it's worth playing or not.
