AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I leave for a week, feel all disconnected from you guys... Come back... and........
IT'S TURNED INTO A FRIGGIN' CLAN RECRUITMENT BOARD FOR A MOD THAT'S NOT EVEN OUT AND PEOPLE CAN'T EVEN SEE THE SKILL THAT OTHER PLAYERS HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Please guys. Calm your little recruiting jets down. I'm sure you want to know if your potential clan members can tell the difference between a bob and a lamp post before you welcome them with open arms.
And for the Board Admins... Can we have a forum devoted to clans/clan matches/recruiting so actual discussion of the game can take place? Not that I have anything against the clans, just
"HEY [Insert clan name here] NEEDS YOU!!!]
-or-
"[Insert clan abbrev. here] challenges [Insert other clan abbrev. here]!"
-or-
"[Clan name] RULES!!!!!!!!!"
isn't what I call game related discussion.

why theres no clan board btw?
What if its not what you expected it to be?
Until then, I'll be moving all Clan topics to Off-Topic, as Pi Gi's argument is valid. Thanks for pointin' it out everyone.
EDIT: Making myself clearer.
And that makes it look less "dumb", how?

Evolutionarily Challenged are not a competitive clan, but rather primarily a group of people who play together and enjoy each others company (almost ). Even if NS is not the miracle that it will be, we can always carry on playing Science and Industry, Hyperpuck and other mods. Its about the comraderie rather than the winning. We started a while ago because it was easier to hold a group together, and gave us something to do. It also comes with an IRC channel where all the fun happens.

So that's why I'm not getting recruited
Currently guilds, alliances, and nations are already being formed. People have browsed the website and have decided on the character they want to play by the information that has been given to them.
Let's say, for example, that I want to be an Ireki warrior. I could ignore everyone until the game comes out, and hope to find other Ireki in game. Or, I could post on the boards, and see if anyone else has the same playstyle of me, and the same objectives as me. Then, we could gather with other people like that, and call ourselves a guild. Then, we build a website, and start pimping ourselves to any n00bs that come to the boards. We will soon decide on a chain of command, and things to do once the game starts.
Once the game goes live, then we all know the plan. We meet somewhere, and begin constructing our city. Soon, we are a force to be reckoned with, while everyone else is still wandering about on their lonesome.
If a player is not very good at the game, the rest of us would help them learn, and help them along. Since the game does not rely on fast reflexes and good aim, it is easier to train people.
For FPS games, it may not be as effective. But still, if you like what the game has to offer, then you can find people to play with regularly. And if you get along with them, they may even help you with your aim.
This is getting long, but I hope I made my point.
"Another clan forms."
"Here's one for the UK"
etc. etc. etc.
That's not discussion. That's what I'm ranting about.

That being sad.
I BEG YOUR PARDON? Who are you to tell me that my opinion, even if it isn't in argreement with the head honcho guy, has no place on this forum? And again my comments are not directed at the act of joining/forming clans. They are towards the act of turning the discussion forum into one giant flood of clan related stuff. Even if that's game related it has no place in a forum which has been named:
"General Discussion
Give feedback on features, ask questions, learn and contribute."
Where do the words, "recruit/advertise your clan" appear in that? I beg your pardon but I thought this forum was meant for discussion and debate of game features, strategies, pictures, etc. As much as I respect the clans and their players I still believe that their is no place for a massive stampede of recruitments/advertisements here.
Don't get me wrong. Clans are a great idea. Advertising your clan to no end on a forum for intelligent discussion, bad idea.
Now Khaim, if you had no malicious nor malevolent intentions with your post please tell me and I will gladly swallow every single syllable I have said. If not, I advise you to treat everyone with respect. We all want to enjoy ourselves yes? We does so through mutual respect. And as you are a newb... Welcome, enjoy the forums, read the FAQs, and I hope to discuss intelligently(or not so much in the Off-Topic forums) with you.
PS: Putting "The" in front of Flay's name connotates your worship/idolize him along the lines that most people follow deities/spiritual leaders of some sort. As much as we like the guy, he's not God and even his opinions can be subject to debate. Whether things happen as a result is up to him. We are entitled to disagree even with our most supreme of leaders. Why do you think the Magna Carta happened?
PPS: Khaim, if I truly and utterly misinterpretted your message tell me so and I will hit myself over the head multiple times and edit this post to be much much friendlier or delete it altogether.
While I agree that these forums are where you are free to express your opinion (until a moderator comes in and says otherwise, that is), I do think that -maybe- Khaim was needlin' you just a bit. I could be wrong though.
However, in all honesty the -lack- of a clan board (at the moment) does mean that clanners have to choose between posting here in the General Forum, and in the Off Topic forum. When you first take a look at the problem, the first choice is obviously the General Forum, because it is involving NS, especially since clans tend (that's just what I've -heard- anywho) to be teamplay oriented a bit more than the average joe on a public server (I personally love teamplay and hate the restriction of a clan, but that's just me).
So it seems natural that they would post here.
Unfortunately hindsight is always 20/20, and what we (you Pi Gi, myself, and others) have observed is that these clan posts don't usually end up being too much about NS, but rather how many clans came before it, who wants to join, how good they are and how much they are so going to r0xx0r <Fill In The Clan>'s b0xx0rz.
That -really- can't be predicted without it happening a few times. Which it finally has. Now that it has, I'll try (and hopefully other moderators as well) to either police the threads better, keeping it more NS oriented (which will be very hard to do, as we can't control what people post, just whether it stays up on the board or not), or we can move them to the Off Topic forum the moment they show signs of not -really- being about NS.
Soooo... Well, I really don't have much of a closing, except that I'm hoping that the present tensions within the community die down soon, and that everyone -relaxes-. Which is hard to do with NS so close, I understand, but people yelling at each other is not going to bring it out any faster, and will just tear the community into little shreds.
Mole is right..it's a silly thing to fight over..so...eh...let it rest. The Mods know what they're doing. Believe me, I've seeen worse communities...These guys are pro's and they'll keep everything nifty and clean. So just let this threat die...or I'll have to snipe it with an LMG.
Lock it. Destory it. Whatever.
oh and I don't worship Flay, he just makes good HL mods.
i cant wait to see some of the tactics that teams will be able to employ
