Opengl Connection Problems

<div class="IPBDescription">Open Gl connecting problems</div> Hello I just started playing this yesterday and it was working fine using System video mode other than not being able to right click and the graphics being sucky but other than that there were no problems playing. Then today I find out that it is better to be using OpenGL video mode for the game to run. After switching though I am now unable to connect to servers it gets through all the messages but then just stops.
My computer is
Win 98
P III 500 mhz
128 mb ram
TNT 2 video card
and a cable modem
running Open GL 800 x 600
If anyone knows how to fix this please help. Oh and I will attatch a picture to show where it stops.

I tried playing a LAN game and it worked fine, and then I reintalled the latest drivers for my video card but it still won't work when trying to play online. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
Oh and I tried open gl with counter strike online and it worked fine ... this is really starting to confuse me
