    I'd recomend running at a fairly low res - 800x600, or 640x480. Your frames should be pretty decent if you avoid choosing '32-bit color' when you install.

    Your network latency should be comparable to CS or any other low-lag HL game. I would recommend using a server browser like Gamespy3d, Gamespy Arcade, ASE, HLLA, etc. in order to find servers, if you are a modem user.

    And thanks to your cool grandmother from the guys on the NS team! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    At home i usually play at 1024x768 so the "low" res thing is not a prob. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    The funny thing is i actaully had my grandma playing MOHAA the other night...

    I swear all i heard all night was "Ahh WTH?? Oh! A Nazi! Kill him!..."

    PS-about the ping, can you give me a specific one? Cause i never played Half-Life with a 56k before. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    That may be the coolest grandmother I have ever heard of in my life. Good on ya.

    Your ping can get as high as 450 on a 56Kb modem and still be very playable, as *all* NS weapons code is client-side predicted. Many of our testers are aussies and such that play on modems to the US, and have no problems kicking butt and taking names, Paul Hogan style. If you use a browser and there are servers in the area, it should be in the 200 or so range usually.

    I got a 56k and I get around 190 to 250. But sometimes it increases to 350 when the game progress and that there's alot of stuff around the maps.
