When Trying To Pick A Team I Get An Error

sometimes when i get on to try to play, when i pick my team it kicks me out of the server and gives me a host_error, i cannot give the exact error because there have been multiple ones. and another error i've been getting is i'll be playing on a server for a few mins than my NS will just shut down...it will still be open but i cannot get back on.

as for the host error, you most likely came from a cheating death server right before that. I know for a fact when I don't have CD on, and I go onto a CD server, and then realize it's a CD server and leave, and then go onto a different server, I get kicked with the same message (I was going for the longest run-on ever). It's now my habit to exit NS completely between servers. Pull down the console, type exit, double-click on the NS icon, start again <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Its definetly C-D man.

Before i had Cd i didnt relaize that almost EVERY server for NS uses it! The servers
Kick you if you dont have it usually they check you either a)when youre in the readyroom or b)when you join a team.

yeah thx i think that is it...cause now that i think about it, it only happens after i go into this one server where cd is optional. But you don't know about my other problem???

is this a regular problem? do you ALWAYS get it? how frequent is it?

a quick solution is to simply Kill NS via the task manager and retry <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

yes i do have win xp, and it happens about every 10 mins on any server ( sometimes shorter, sometimes longer), and when it happens i do just close hl through task manager. But it's a pain to get back on and than they are already about 5 mins farther into the game and now you don't know what's going on....it sucks.

mkay, I have heard of errors like this but I don't remember any diecast ans



try the standard then:

1) Update/reinstall all drivers
2) via taskmanger kill all unnecesary programs before starting up HL
3) try ussing the switch to func in tsk mngr to get back it (see what hapens)

Then there are the 'if all else fails try these' (I suggest waiting a while before trying them)
4) reinstall NS
5) Reinstall HL
6) Reformat



Ohhh, one quick Q, does this happen with ALL HL mods or just NS?

Well ummm i figured out my problem, it was just from some bots i installed. But i got rid of the bots and it works fine now.
