<a href='http://www.homelanfed.com/index.php?id=15798' target='_blank'>http://www.homelanfed.com/index.php?id=15798</a>
The interview is mostly for people that haven't kept up to date with the changelogs, but you'll probably find something new there.

edit: And, we get a little description of Constellation icon (even tho it probably wouldn't be hard to guess <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)
It will be out on July 31st ("TSA Thursday"), barring total fiery destruction of Massachusetts.

Nice interview btw <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Charlie Cleveland - Definitely. Even if not everything gets finished, we've been sitting on this version too long to hold it up any longer. The community has been patiently waiting for the new version, but are getting too frothy-mouthed to hold back on them now. This is evil. <i>Please</i> don't let the rabid 1.04-hating monkies prevent you from taking the time to make everything perfect. I'd <i>gladly</i> wait a week or two more if it meant the balance would be that much better, or if you just fix a couple of annoying bugs.
1.04 isn't such a horrible game that we wouldn't put up with it any longer for a better 2.0. Take your time, test all the bugs, balance gameplay, and when everything is settled, release the mod. We'll do the rest.
Don't be provoked by us.
Hmm scary thaught, what if monse and flayra's roles were reversed O-o
But really,are you considering putting in AvA/MvM??It doesn't sound too good since you will have to tweak things around a little bit :/
And woohoo,he thinks we need new aliens <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> Let there be the scorpian <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> Im thinking of drawing a concept sketch now.... <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

I'm definitely signing up for Constellation once 2.0 comes out, and I think anyone who plays the game regularly and can afford it should do the same; I've spent way too many hours on this game to keep freeloading <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
HomeLAN - Have there been any thoughts for future versions of Natural Selection at this point?
Charlie Cleveland - We have big plans for NS, including marine vs. marine and alien vs. alien play, new technology for the marine tech tree, female marines and maybe even new alien lifeforms.
That said, while we have plenty of ideas, time and money are still hard to come by. Many members on the team have been working too hard for too long, and we need a break. It just can't continue at this rate without some changes. <b> We'll be taking a break after 2.0, and I'll be trying to secure some funding for further NS development and possibly for getting NS into retail.</b><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Possibly getting NS into retail? You mean retail as in what Valve did with Counter-strike and DOD being buyable in the stores, even though they can be downloaded otherwise?
What's wrong with it? It gives the mod a LOT of publicity and new players, and puts money(I assume..) in the pockets of the developers for future support and additions. Just look at how many players CS and DoD have. It seems that the idea is morally offensive to a lot of players but that's just selfish; nobody's forcing people to spend money on it, and even if the first they hear of it is from retail they can still get Half-Life and download the mod.
Yeah, it'd be a shame for Flayra to get anything out of a few years of hard work, eh?
Anyhow, its been said a thousand times, NS on HL1 will always be free.
Compensation is fine, but not from me. Check back with me when I make $30000 a year. Don't mean to sound rude or ungrateful, just speaking the truth. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Because working for <b>only</b> 2 years at about 80 hours a week and did not get paid a cent is better, all while being bombarded publically with retarded ideas by people who feel every right to tell you how to do your programming even though they can barely make their own computer function correctly? Sign me up!!!
Bleh.

Everyone have faith in Flayra's words. If he announces a release date, it gets fulfilled if he has to spill blood to do it. I know this for sure. I still have the scar from when he had to spill blood, too.
It will bring in so many new people, force game review sites to check it out and review it more reliably, and so on. I think even 1.04, perhaps with a few minor bugfixes, would have been a worthy retail release, because I've had so much fun with it so far. Truly one of the best concieved and executed mods ever, and really demanding of a wide release.

I never realized the sacrifice Flayra(and MonsE? and others?) made for NS, and I thank them for that. Why did it take so much work though? I thought other Half-life mods never took that such a massive amount of work. I guess NS must have alot of tough things to program.

I don't think so, but I deserve to be corrected. Although I'm just being honest ya know...
Business? What's this? You're trying to make money without me involved?! Shame on you Sub. Shame. <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Your assumption is correct. Flayra had to do a lot of clever stuff to implement NS with the HL engine.
