Anime Themes

I like to hunt down the opening theme of the anime seriesises I've seen. Usually I do a very extensive Google for whatever it is, but for some particularly elusive songs this doesn't work. Does anyone know any other way of finding anime songs? ("Buy the CD, Skorpy". Yes, I mean the ones which don't have soundtrack CDs.)

I wasn't going to specifically ask. Stuff which Kazaa has been unable to find, like Gokudo, Someday's Dreamers, Banner of the Stars... actually quite a lot. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good IRC channels where this stuff's available, so to speak.

Hate to burst your bubble, but EVERY single song from an anime series gets put onto CD at one point or another. This ain't Western cinema ^_^

There are several different CD formats
OST - Original Soundtrack; there may be several OST soundtracks released depending on the length of the series and/or the music required. OST's mainly contain all the background music of a series. You'll find the opening and ending tracks, GENERALLY, on these CDs. (90-95% of songs from a series will appear on these CDs)
Vocal Collection - As the name suggests, it is a CD full of songs from a specific series that only contain songs with people singing in them. Very rarely will a BGM track make it onto the CD.
Character Albumn - A CD that contains a series of tracks that are assocciated with a specific character. You'll generally find a character's theme song and any other songs that have been played while the character is on screen. Azumanga Daioh has several Character Albumns, and contain around the same number of songs as a CD single.
Image Albumn - I have no idea how they select songs for an Image Albumn.... but they usually don't contain a vast number of songs.... Perhaps Injury can help me out here...
Opening and Ending Singles - There are 2 singles released. One that contains the opening and one that contains the closing. Will also generally include a non-vocal version of the song as well.
Specials - Stuff like 'Best Song Collections', 'Symphonic Suites', and Artists who cover songs from series (Eg "Macross: Mari Iijima sings Lynn Minmay") CD's generally appear after a series has finished and also depend on their popularity. It's really potluck at which songs get chosen... but it won't be anything new.

Check out OmochaBox in my sig if you want to order some CDs. That is, if the damn site is up.....
