This is excellent. You have custom animations, the skin is suberb, and highly inspiring. I, a stubborn **** who believes in only full length rifles, have been converted. This is now replacing my aging Pulse Rifle. The community should be humbled by your presense. A modeler, skinner, and animator. All in one.

When in 1st person, both version SEEM(aka, I know they aren't) low poly. VERY, low poly. Like a max of 400. At least thats what it seems like.
The bayonet version is OBVIOUSLY higher quality, even the textures are better.
The animations are quick, and they don't seem like they would do any damage(for the bayonet).
Other than that, work on the reload animation. Great job, seriously! This is taking Darkkiz's FN-2000 slot, and that was a top notch one.
And when shootin, the muzzleflash kinda of....goes on and off every now and then during fire, like its almost "struggling" to shoot, haha
First off let me say that it's a great model and that I am using it at the moment. It's models like these that make me want to be on the marine side just so I can look at it. True the reload animations could use a bit of work but it doesn't really bother me that much. However, one of the idle animations obstructs the view quite a bit (the one where the marine holds up the gun and such). That's about the only thing that bothers me, but it's not stopping me from using this model =}.
And here's another thing I was wondering about...when one gets another weapon, the knife is still the bayonette. Shouldn't one not have such a weapon after dropping it? Haha...I know it's not fixable and it doesn't bother me at all. Just something I was wondering about ^_~.

Did you rename them accordingly and replace the original ones? Or did you just extract them directly into the sounds folder?
If I may make a few suggestions, if you did as that quote said, then it wouldn't be right. Extract the sounds themselves (the .wav files, select them all) and put them in this folder:
C:/Sierra/Half-Life/ns/sounds/weapons
If you just drag the folder into the /weapons folder <i>and not the sounds themselves</i>, NS won't find the sounds since they're in a subfolder and thus, no reload sound. And don't rename them, just dump all of them in there.
If I also make another suggestion, you've been a bit critical in these last two posts. I know your new, and most likely have not been around for the large era where lots of people were complaining about llamas/flamers who just posted "This model sucks hard" "It sucks so much. You should kill yourself because the (model attribute) blows more [explicative] than your mother" and etc. Do try to be gentler. Modelers do this for free, so if they screw up, oh well. Didn't lose anything did you? If they do good, whoopie! You just got an industry-grade high poly/skin model <i>for free</i>.
Also, simply for clerification, he doesn't pat his gun, I know it looks like that because the animation moves fast, but he actually takes his hand off the foward grip, slides it down the bottom of the weapon, puts it under the pistol grip, tilts the weapon a little, then goes back to normal idle position. It only plays when your not in action and idly for quite the while, so, you shouldn't really be sitting in the middle of a firefight doing nothing so the idle2 animation plays.The reload is also fast and badass. A quick flick of the clip release switch, slam a new clip in, and then side of your hand vertically over bolt, pulling it back, injecting a new round, thus good to go.
A feasible gripe would be the muzzle flash seems bigger, as this is a much shorter weapon. The longer weapons have shorter muzzle flashes, but the shorter the weapon, the bigger its muzzle flash. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> Evil.
