Will Ns 2.0 Be Steam Compatable?

I have NS installed on steam 2.0 right now and I can't find any servers. Some people are telling me this is because NS is currently Steam uncompatable. I have a question is there any sort of workaround to get onto current servers with NS 1.0? Also will NS 2.0 be able to run via steam?

-ty in advance for a answer

    To answer your questions:

    No

Not for 2.0, The NS team originally said NS1.0 would be steam compatable but then it wasn't, I heard Valve got too busy with their own games or something. So it may be something you will see in the future, but not in 2.0. Check the news archives back to before 1.0 was released for more info.

Why? It doesn't seem that buggy.

Considering that it's beta and that no one has ever tried something like this before (to my knowledge), it's ok.

They need to give contacting the ad server lower priority in their threading. It's really annoying not being able to use a window until the ad loads. I'm really excited though about what this will eventually mean for the broadband economy as a whole.

in my opinion I find Steam to be a useless piece of software that just creates over a gig of uncontrollable data files, I don't see anything wrong with actually downloading and installing stuff, the whole thing about "Streaming" application files is absolute bollocks, the whole file has to be downloaded anyway, you can't stream a binary.

When I first used Steam is was a buggy piece of crud, not sure if it's changed anymore because I uninstalled it a week after using it, I hate Steam with a passion, I _really_ hate it, it's like "Oh, you want to run this new game? download THIS first and lose 20 gigabytes for useless crap!"

It's not worth the bother of setting up, downloading all your files, creating a user account, logging into it, trying to start a game, downloading more files when you could just as easily be downloading a setup executable, whack the mod on your HD and be playing away within 5 minutes.

I like steam, but I'm sort of skeptical of the whole ad thing...I mean, are we supposed to think: "Ok, cool, now to launch my favorite game... WAIT A SECOND! AN AD FOR TOOTHPASTE! I BETTER STOP CONNECTING TO MY GAME AND IMMEDIATELY GO TO THE WEBSITE!"
