A story for everyone!
I had this idea, which is basically a story made by several people. It would be kinda like an RPG, but not quite one. Someone starts off with Chapter 1, then another person continues the story with Chapter 2, and so on. It's kinda like a game I used to play when I was younger, when someone continues the story where the previous person left.
For it to have a 'base' foundation, I'm gonna post the background of the story, but that doesn't mean that it has to always stay the same way. And also, some 'rules', which is basically for the thing not to get out of controll.
Background:
A group of humans decides to leave Colony X-22, to set up their own, independent settlement, free from TSA government. Of course, the TSA are not happy about that, since this could mean an opposition to them, and therefore the deserters are treated as a threat. This means that the Frontiersman are after them, trying to eliminate this group. However, you also have the Kharaa, who treats every human beaing as an enemy, therefore, classifing the group as an enemy.
This group is quite big, equivilent to a small army, and leave Colony X-22 with 2 Thor classification ships (an imense transportation ship with light defences), and a few Valkyre Fighters. This is where the story begins, them leaving.
I'm not gonna start the story, since I wanna see how someone else starts.
Rules: Just a few....

New characters can be included anytime, but if ther are going to have a 'big' role (like being hero) please include the information at the end in BOLD letter.

Let's make few heros. A story with 20 heros is not a good story.

Try to keep swearing at a low use, unless it's a charater who is speaking

Let's try and use chapters, so it's easier to see where it stoped last time (no chapter title needed)

Keep to the story. If the last chapter was about fighting a hive, don't make the next one about how a colony was estabilished on a planet.

The characters must stay in character. If one person is a tough, and grumpy guy, don't make it into a sissy in the next chapter. Unless it was moved, or has a secret personality.

Be fun!

PS: Don't know if this was ever attempted, but let's try and make this work and fun .

The mighty Icuras engine, powering the lumbering Thor vessel, drove the craft forward through space. Nestled in the Flight Deck Command Chair of "The Dainty Mistress" was Captain Hemlok, a Veteran Pilot, retired. He left the TSA behind when they said that he was just looked upon as an expendable object; something disposable. He made most of his work piloting Capital Ships. His last ship, "Black Betty", was a "vintage" Battlecruiser. During a routine flight past Mars, they encountered a fatal engine problem, a micrometeorite had collided with the Hydrogen Fuel Cell canisters powering the space craft. The frame began to buckle under the vaccum of space as Hemlok and his crew raced towards the escape pods. Out of a crew of 112, only a mere 28 survived.
But that did not stop Hemlok. The TSA didn't want him to endanger any other of thier men, so they "retired" him out of thier fleet. This opened up a lot of oppurtunites for Hemlok; he took up fighter-pilot training on an off-world Academy. But his main love was flying big, bulky Capital Ships. So, seeing no advantages in becoming a figher-pilot, he quit his training and applied for a Transport job. They were in need of a skilled pilot. Now, nearly two years later, he sits alone in the flight deck, Piloting The Dainty Mistress towards the uncharted space of "Charlie Tango XV5" sector. Long-range scanning indicates an Earth-like sun, any many inhabital planets. Things were looking up for this pilot.
((Well - thats the end. It is just a small introduction to a transport Pilot; you don't know how hard it is to start a story! So, I cut it short and left a lot of oppurtunities to happen. Good luck, guys! ))
Come on everyone, let's see more people writing .
PS: I'll write later, since I'v been busy very lately.
In other words, "Hemlok" is jut your plain ol' pilot. But when people see his name in a diffrent chapter, they'll think, "Oh yeah - him!". He's not necessarily the main character. Good luck - I cannot wait to read more!
Thanks for your time,
-Sid
P.S. Thanks P-Khan - I'm glad you liked the introduction. Thanks again.
"OK, move along now" said the marine. The evacuation of Colony-X22 began, and the renegade marines began to move all the civilians into both of the Thor ships. Some went to The Dainty Mistress, others went to Odins Hand. Dave got his bag, flunged over his showders and folowed everyone. He was a young, prodigy kid. At the age of 18 he recieved his Aerospace Engenering diploma from MIT, and did his specialistaion at CalTech, on Deep-Space Travelling. He was now 22, and left Earth to go to Colony-X22 due to his father, who was living there. But now he passed away, and Dave was alone. His father was a retired TSA Liutenant, and knew somethings. Maybe too much. He remembered comming back to his house, and finding his father dead. With a bullet in his forhead. After the funural, he recieved an anonimous letter, which explained all the knowledge that his father had of the TSA cottuption. It also said that his life was in danger. The only way for him to live, to survive, was to excape the TSA hands, therefore he joined the people who deserted the Colony.
He proceded into the The Dainty Mistress and went to his room. He entered his room, threw his bag in a corner, and fell asleep.
Chapter 1
Captain Hemlok was sitting at his Command Chair of The Dainty Mistress. As usual, he was re-checking the engines, life support, ventilation, etc. As usual, this was a tedious job. "Ah" he sighed "How I miss the good ol' days". He flicked a switch and his chair moved upwards. He was now at the Command Observatory. It's, basically, a round, plasma window, giving him a 360 degree view of the space surrounding him. Plasma windows proved to be of a much greater quality than the normal, sand-based window.
Micro-meteors wouldn't cause much damage to it.
As Hemlok looked outside he saw The Dainty Mistress's twin sister, Odins Hand. Everything seemed to be working working smoothly there, with not much damage. The few, but reliable Valkyre fighters, used to protect the 2 ships. The fighters were constantly doing patrolls around the transport ships, and going in groups of 2 to make patrolls in front of the ships, in case TSA ships were on the way. As usual, everything was working fine.
"You are good to go sir" said the voice in the ****-pit.
"Roger that. Going to another boring patrol" answered Liutenant Julius. He pushed the throtle sticks forward, and the engines of his Valkyre fighter came to life. Inside, everything was shaking, as it always did during
take-off. Today's shift was to patroll the area in front of the 2 Thor ships. He, and Captain Gengly, were to go 500miles in front, and report anything strange. Julius' Valkyre fighter moved hastly to the rondevous point to meet Gengly.
"Late as usuall Bob?"
"Don't start John"
Gengly carried on "You know the drill. Follow me, we patrol, come back and have a cold beer."
"yeah, I know. Then we get drunk, get some hookers and come back for another **** patrol."
"Of course" replied Gengly
The two fighter moved towards their destination. After reaching it, they began to fly around in circle, looking for any threat. "Nothing... as usuall" moaned Julius.
"Yeah... true.... Wait, I'm detecting something. Comming from Alpha-Tango-De...." A flash appeared on Julius's side, and the radio suddenly only caught static
"WTH? John? Come in! Come in!" he cried desperatly. He looked back and saw 2 Gipsy class fighter clossing on him fast. Julius entered attack position, and tried to loose the two enemies, but he wasn't managing "Damn, I can't loosed them" he shouted. Just then, the enemy fighters gave a shoot at the Valkyre fighter. The bullet hit the electonic generator, causing a fire inside the ****-pit. "huh? Fire.... ahhhhhh" was the last transmition made by him. He was burned alive.
The radio was being carefully heard by the Communication Centre at Odins Hand, which gave the renegades a warning. However, they were detected, by what seems to be a TSA Scout Fleet.
