Did I spend $15 buying the Terminator 2 extended DVD disc set?
Yes.
Did I spend $5 matinee price to go watch Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines?
No.
Why?
Firstly the idea that after a several decade war, which the machines have waged quite well, that they would change their method of seeking out humans by creating a perfectly textured, Avon and Covergirl included, blonde woman with double-fine eyelashes to hunt down and kill the rest of the human resistance was just repulsive.
These people have lived underground their entire lives and had access to the most basic of survival needs. So... the best way to blend in with a smut covered crowd is to go in with shiney complexion and beaty red lipstick?
Secondly, after seeing the Matrix Reloaded I had come to realize what people would begin to do with 3d computer animation. It was meant as a tool to make the impossible seem possible and even likely. It was made to spruce up the battlefield by adding a squadrant of P2 tankbusters overhead when the film crew couldn't afford to rent them. It was not created to saturate an entire scene of a movie, which can be anywhere from one minute to twenty, with mind-numbing, overblown, underthought effects.
Thirdly, I use to think the old way of using slow-motion was bad, I don't anymore in fact I now miss it. Back in the day slow-motion meant you got to watch (insert action-movie star here) dive for the girl and scream "Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!" followed by a drawn out 'uhhhhhgggaaahhhh' as he was hit in the leg with a bullet. Now it means we get to watch bullets coast through the air... How exciting.. Hello?! Bullets aren't exactly the main focus of the scene, it's the good guy shooting the bad guy. I mean in ancient movies where some Jewish guy killed some Roman guy did they focus on the sword? Alfred Hitchcock being the exception.
Fourthly, "When she died I moved away, I just left. I kept going and going and never turned back." Anyone heard this before? Really, anyone? Cliche is the word, avoid it at all costs.
And no I still haven't spent $5 to go watch the movie, I just know much much more than I should.

Do you mean the T-1 which is the big tank lookin robot.
P.S. I've seen this movie several times
T800 = arnie
T1000 = robert patrick (terminator 2 shapeshifter)
TX = new chick who is a combination of the two above only thin and agile.
T1 = big AI jeep with a head type thing and guns.
dont tell me ur smart ar5e remarks cuz i do actually no these things
So much confusion...
The look of the terminator (outward physical appearance) is dependant on the model number.
So you could have say, a T-800 model 206 that looks like Vin Diesel or something. Or a T-800 model 99 that looks like OJ simpson (actually one of the ones they were going to originally cast before they got arnie). All have the same capabilities.
The T-1's are sweet, but what kind of armored vehicle can't take a hit from a 7.62 x 51 shootin minigun? pathetic..... one would think they were at least small arms fire proof.
Ah well
