Installation And Execution Problem

<div class="IPBDescription">Installation stops at file</div> Execution of the installation file works, but when it's instaling, at about 30 seconds left, the installation stops on the file role4_wound1.wav. So I stop it with ctrl-alt-del; the game seems to run correctly... until I try to join a game. A Windows' window explodes in my face: "Unable to load library - c:\sierra\counter-strike\ns\cl_dlls\client.dll" and when I click ok, the game closes. Is there any relation between the incomplete installation and this bug? I installed the last version of Counter-Strike, 1.0.0.5. I tried your trick with the dummy hl.exe. No answer. Same thing.

It sounds like you have a bad installer file. I would redownload from a different location and try again.

If this is the case, you should remove the "ausgamer" mirror from the list.

It's not necessarily that the file was hosted badly (and ausgamers is a big mirror site that MD5's everything), it was that it may have transmitted to you badly.
