will Steam support NS 2.0 the day of release (31) ?

the reason i ask is because i uninstalled my other halflife copy because my steam one worked great. then i heard about NS 1 and thought i could try but it didnt work. now i hear steam will support NS 2.0, but i was wondering when the support would be ready.

thanks <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Keep in mind that I really dont know what I am talking about -- however I was under the impression that Valve only uses Steam on thier products -- NS isn't really made by Valve so I doubt it will be put on Steam.

    Steve: you can import your own mods into Steam for easy access. You just have to import it into the code somewhere to support it. I don't believe 2.0 has support yet. It will in the future tho.

    Why do you even need steam?
    What exactly does it do?
    The only thing it does is combine a few things..
    None of which work all that well..

    Someone tell me exactly what it can do.. I didnt get through much of it before I got sick because nothing in it worked

    Steam allows people who have broadband to play Half-Life and its mods, without actually having Half-Life installed. Each time a person joins a server, they download all the necessary information and run it from the steam program. This allows Valve to monitor games better, and put in place updates, without having to have everyone download a 15+ meg file patch. Valve did not create Day of Defeat, but they did start helping the team before 1.0. I'm not sure how interested they are in NS, but I believe at this point, there is no plans to have NS in steam.

    I don't think NS 2.0 will be on Steam. No announcement/icon has appeared for this issue. But there's always the possibility of the future...

    No, 2.0 does not have Steam support as far as I've heard.

    Honestly, the only reason I've ever used Steam was to try the Counter-Strike betas and get bored of them in a day or two...

    I rather like Steam, despite it's bugs. Half-Life movies. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> I should get Traptown...

    Steam its working fairly well for most users and the service is quite stable at the moment...

    And honestly... I prefer Steam rather than waiting for hours on Fileshack/Fileplanet queues or geting annoyed by "too many users" FTP messages <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Hope to see NS on Steam some day...
