    Not bad.

    I'd go with a Turtle Beach card, as I've had a few probs with my speakers crackling with a SBLive.

    I'd also go with a Lite On DVD/CD-RW combo drive for a few bucks more, i've had trouble with LG too (my old cd-rw drive only burns at half speed now >_< )

    I don't know where you live, but at Fry's Electronics, I saw an ad for a GeForce FX 5200 under a hundred. Shop around.

    i sugest that you upgrade that 350W power suply to a 450W good if you want more than 3 IDE devises and do what javert says. try <a href='http://www.newegg.com' target='_blank'>newegg.com</a> it rocks

    and for 404filenotfound
    try installing the latest platform drivers to your motherboard. and use absolutly none of the software that came with the card, just use the default windows drivers. that helped me with my Soundblaster Live card.

    [edit]
    oh ya look for a motherboard that supports AGP 8x

    I'm gettin the LG drive thingy cuz it's sixty bucks for CD-RW & DVD rom.

    I found a Chaintech GeForce4 Ti4200 with TV-out, 86 bucks.

    I got half my stuff from Newegg, the other half from Googlegear and the card from something.

    Actually, according to a few benchmarks I've seen, the FX5200 is only <i>slightly</i> better than the Geforce4 MX440.

    The FX5200 card is the budget card for the FX series, just like the MX440 is the budget card for the GF4 series.

    Except the fx5200 has the performance of the gf4ti4200. I wish people would actually have a look at these things :/

    Integrated audio and ethernet, so you can scratch those off. Not to mention it supports 800mhz FSB and HT, which youre probably going to want. 4 ram slots in dual channel configuration. BTW why a CD-RW with DVD on it? Do you honestly plan to watch DVDs on your computer? Er.. right... *cough* Anyway, thats the mobo I'm getting, heres the rest of the system which I'm probably going to get (though I expect case and graphics card to change).

    Not too shabby. I really like that case - 120mm rear fan! woot! that should create a Vortex Of Heat Removal +3 <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> I hope it's not too loud.

    Siberian Dingo has a good point about a 8x AGP slot. From what I know, they're backwards compatable so even if the card you get is 4x, at least you can upgrade later. Also in regards to the MOBO, you might wanna consider spending another $10-$20 on a MOBO that has 800/533 capabilities. That could save you some future upgrade issues too.

    The last thing is the monitor. I'm guessing you like the matching colors (case and monitor) but I'd suggest this as an improvement:

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Viewsonic E70f 17" PerfectFlat CRT Monitor - RETAIL
    Specifications:
    0.21mm horizontal dot pitch
    0.25mm diagonal dot pitch
    Optimal resolution 1024 x 768
    OnView? including OSD lock function. ViewSonic Wizard. ViewSonic color management.
    Anti-static, anti-reflective screen. MPR-II and ENERGY 2000 compliant. Plug & Play+.
    PC and Mac? compatible.
    3-year limited warranty. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    It's only $10 more and you'll be pleased with the PerfectFlat.

    I haven't tried onboard ethernet adapters but I would give it a shot. If it doesn't perform you can always add a card later.

    Otherwise, good luck and have fun building <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    The case I'm using now has 120mm rear exhaust and 120mm front intake, its pretty nice, except that ambient temps are kinda high (my dad is the air conditioner nazi, doesn't want it on unless you can cook eggs on the sidewalk)

    Hey, DOOManiac suggested that Motherboard.

    I'm trying to build this for under 900 or so so i'm going slightly lower-class stuff.
