Is there anyway I can play by myself to train? Or perhaps play against a bot that doesn't attack?

    there are bots avalible, use the search feature to find them

    Open Half-Life, go to multiplayer->creategame->Choose starting map->When it opens, press the tilde key (~) to bring down the console, type sv_cheats 1, then type bigdig. If you need more resource points to build, type in givepoints. These you type in the console also. Have fun!
