<div class="IPBDescription">Want to kill aliens? Here's your chance</div> Marines are getting totaled so here's some tips after playing and reading a lot of information.

<i>Here are some build orders:</i>

<b>Motion Tracking Rush</b> : get obs so you can get motion tracking asap... helpful for finding skulks

<b>Level 1 Armour + Weps Rush</b> : build two arms labs right away and upgrade both to level 1 weapons and armour. with this you can take an extra bite from a skulk and kill him with fewer bullets.

<b>Shotgun Rush</b> : VERY EFFECTIve drop everyone a shotgun and go own ( only do it if you think the marines have good aim )

<b>Gorge Hunting</b> : send each marine to a random res node because a gorge will be there by killing the gorge you set him back by 10 res and skulk kills you he gets 3 res... 7 res advantage there! IT WORKS! Just be sure to use STOCK marines ( a clean spawned marine )

<b>Build Obs Around the Map</b> : this is the counter to sensory chambers... if they spam sensory then build obs. obs has a certain radius to it that decloaks all stuctures... plus you get tons of scanner sweeps too! MAP HACK ( be sure to put them in stealth places where the aliens won't find them. )

<b>Money hunt</b>: Build enough turrets around your base at start so that it protects at least everything and get an arms lab up. Then with <b>all the marines STICKING TOGETHER</b> explore the whole map and kill every SINGLE alien you see. This should be very early game so you should be just facing skulks and gorges (lerk if your lucky) since aliens are usually morons and like to run off to do their own thing and there's a group of 5 marines together so gg. This allows you to get mega income!BUT <b>IGNORE killing structures</b> unless your absolutely sure all the aliens are dead and are waiting in que to spawn.

<i>Gameplay Notes:</i>

NOTE : <b>Electrify</b> is only useful towards <b>skulks</b> only other than that it sucks balls and I think it's a piece of **** for 30 res.

NOTE: <b>Res for kills system</b>: It works when you kill someone and you hear a sound when you get res for kills. Gives you a random number between 1 and 3 ususally it will show up on the dead body you killed how much res you got.

<b>BE WARNED</b> even if you lockdown a hive a gorge can go by ... drop a sensory chamber and build a hive there and TRICK you that there is no hive there making you feel secure AND YOUR TURRETS WILL NOT FIRE! So be safe and build an obs at a lockdown post if possible

USE <b>PHASTE GATES</b> THEY ROCK you can backup your secondary bases very easily USE IT A LOT BTW aliens cannot use phasegates making them a PLUS

<b>Seeing a lot of onos?</b> USE jetpacks then stunn and devour will be useless **** because they don't effect people in the air.

<b>SHOTGUNS ARE great</b> ( no slowdown in speed ) does 200 damage up close to buildings and stuctures! HMG does 20 dmg per bullet BUT 10 dmg towards stuctures and you walk slower... i think from now on i'll never drop an hmg ....plus it costs 10 resources! 2 shotguns are better than 1 slow walking HMG in my opinion.

<b>If your rich</b> make sure you upgrade all weapons, Scanner sweep A LOT , electrify everything you got .

<b>IF YOU KNOW YOUR GOING TO DIE</b> type KILL in console prevents them from getting money ^_^ although some servers have the KILL delay

<b>If your devoured by an onos</b> SPAM your text messages since the location of your text will be revealed also... so your teammates know where to save you... an exploit but useful.

<b>NEVER EVER RAMBO</b> Listen to your freaking commander because he calls the shot and if you lose the game BLAME IT ON HIM or be smart and eject him if he's doing a piece of **** job ( use the right click menu ).
Always go to your waypoints and if you don't have an use the <b>"Need Order"</b> key to be assigned to a task because <b>Commnanders know best</b>. Also always walk with a marine next to you so that you have assitance. Teamwork is key because two marines with shotguns can take down an onos very easily.
Shotgun = 200 dmg
...
2 shotguns that's 400 dmg
onos = 500 hp
...
gg DO THE MATH. OR you can weld each other if your heavies or such. Whatever work together folks this isn't CS, FRAGS doesn't matter, there's no freaking scoreboard and no one gives a **** about your kill to death ratio get that in your freaking head.

<b>Fades **** you off?</b> 2 up close shots with shotguns should be the answer HMG is good too! But if you have an LMG though? RUN AWAY don't let him kill you for resources moron! That's how fades get a lot of income and morph into an onos after you kill him!

<b>REMEMBER IF YOU DIE A LOT</b> ALIENS SHOULD be loaded with cash and that's a big no no so if you know your going to die RETREAT.

<b>BIND KEYS TO THE</b> "need health" "need ammo" and "waiting for orders" so that the comm can see the icon popping up and can assist you asap.

<b>COMM use the hotkeys! here's a screenshot</b>

<img src='http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-8/287105/hotkeys.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

<b>USE SQUADS:</b> They are so freaking useful by putting marines in squads it will blink red at the top if they are under attack so you can assist them... to assign squads select a marine or marines and press the <b>DUCK + a number 1 to 5.</b> ( Max 5 squads ). Double tap a squad to zoom into them to assist.

<b>Voice commucation</b>: Commanders can talk to certain people by just selecting them and holding the <b>DUCK</b> key and the voice key and just talk with that person... useful if the other marines are trying to hear **** and use stealth.

Teamwork is the key to survival in NS make it happen and good luck i'll see you on Monday. I expect some alien rapeage soon O:)

    This is as close to a built in cheat as you'll get...

    The shotgun is 17 dmg, the arms lab upgrades go +1,+2,+2. So if you want to focus on shotguns, get armour 1 FIRST, then tech through the whole weapons line.

    Also, HMG slows you down very little now, an HMG with full ammo is the same speed as a shotty with full ammo (because the shotty can hold many more spare clips, 5 clips instead of 2 for the HMG)

    Shotgun strategy - reload at any time there's nothing to shoot at. It happens quickly and you can interrupt the animation by shooting, so there's no reason not to (another big advantage the shotgun has over the HMG)

    2 guys with shotguns can take down a res node in about 5 seconds, and they have so much spare ammo that it's vastly more efficient than knifing nodes.

    I've compared the two, and a L3 shotgun deals damage at an almost equal rate to a L3 HMG, so the choice seems obvious to me.

    Some people are still thinking that the HMG is like 1.04 - the damage is similar, but it is much less effective against buildings so IMO the shotty is all round a better choice.

    I wish there were a L3 knife, so I don't have to waste my precious shotty shells on res nodes.

    HMG are like they should be: a nice line of demolishing bullets, excellent versus creatures on distance.
    Shotguns are also like they should be: a marine "bitegun". Very effectif at close combat, but useless at ranged combat.

    Oh, and, as a side note... The most important word for a 2.0 comm (as I've seen thus far) is: flexibility.

    You forgot one thing: You can't do crap without res. Unlike 1.04, it's easy to lose res towers. Electrifying is pretty important when you've got a good load of res coming in. If possible, secure res points with TFs if you can. Not only does this protect the res node, it keeps aliens from going to one place or another. Most of the time, Aliens will attack the lockdown rather then a single RT.

    I don't see JPs used much, but I'm certainly gonna start using em next game. I am sick of my HAs getting devoured.

    One thing that REALLY gets on my nerves are beginning game rambos. Usually I'll get in the chair, and some guy will start spamming <soso> hive is empty. At this point, I build two IPs at base, only to find ONE person there! This isn't just annoying, this is game ending. This usually draws a few obsceneties, recycles and f4s from me.

    They're a lot more useful now than before. Best game I've commed so far led off by everyone except one guy leaving base ramboing. I grouped them up and started hitting the aliens, forced them on the defensive. One group smacked 2 gorges before going down, the other got up 2 res towers. As they respawned, I equipped them with shotguns and secured 2 more nodes, and knocked out one alien res...

    Due to the new-found early game aggressiveness of marines, it's easier to deal with rambos.
