I just finished the preview of NS over at 3D action planet. and their major point was that the NS community needs to have team play in order for the mod to survive. and from what i have read about NS, that’s completely true. so here's my idea: create a group of members that enjoy team play (for all of you who play DOD, i got this idea from a group called OWP). Sure, there are some problems with this idea. 1. what if no one signs up? 2. what if everyone signs up and no one follows the rules? Well, I would hope that some people would be interested in the game enough to play it the way it was ment to be played and as for not every one following the rules you could establish a server where only approved members of the group could go. i know that in DOD land, there are some OWP servers and normally you can find some good team playing members there. (i am a member of OWP, and enjoy it a lot). This group could really help NS establish some good, team players and could spawn a whole league of people only belonging to the group (?).  Now, perhaps when NS is released, everyone will use team play and there won't be a need for it. Although im not sure how likely that will be. Well, thanks for reading this blabber, and ill see you around. let me know what you think. later

I like that idea.  Not all of us can take the time to dedicate to one clan, but we still want to play with people in the spirit of the game, not some llama who thinks it's funny to march his team off a cliff.

That's a good idea. In DoD I'm always glad when an [OWP] player joins my team, you know that they are reliable and know what they are doing.

Perhaps we could just extend the [OWP] to NS. Nobody said it has to be limited to one mod, and this way all the team players can easily recognize each other.

Excellent idea. OwP really grasps the aspect of teamplay well, and I too am happy to see when one joins a DoD server. Ns would benefit greatly from this.

Althought I am not a part of OWP, I do obey the rules that OWP members should obey and I just love it when an OWP members joins my team.  I get on mic right away and say "Hey buddy, need ammo @ broken house."  then he replys "Cool, be there - ETA 2 mins"  Teamwork on a pub!?!?!? Yep - OWP rocks.  We should have this for NS, I agree

Hell, I'd join this in a second. I play a lot of Firearms and the lack of teamplay on public servers is horribly frustrating, especially when you're holed up in your base and some dumb kid decides to waste your last 10 reinforcements all by himself. I'd join a clan, but I don't want the rigid schedule and structure, I just want a good game with good teamplay. I think the forum regulars are going to make quite a good guild in themselves, as forumites recognize each other easily. Maybe we could all use a tag like ]NSF[ (NS Forums) as an unofficial indication of where we come from and how we want to play.

It shouldn't be played any other way, but I fear alot of people are going to play it flamingly.... Let's just hope I'm wrong. This MOD deserves to be played good. Not flamed and cheated to death as CS has been.
And before you say it's not and alot of people still play, well it is dead. Very few people play it the way it should be played and when that happens the game dies.

so basicly this is like a clan thing or what? i mean i have never heard of this idea before cause i havent played any hl in about a year...do you have to go to like practices alot? i mean i like the idea of working together and not having idiots shoot you in the back of the head for the fun of it. but i dont have time to go to practices and stuff like that...

Not a clan, a pact between those of us who want to play this game and enjoy it to the fullest by being team players.  Or, a clan that the only rule is that you play like you're on a team.  NSF tag works for me.   But basically yeah, with enough of us here vowing to join/play as a team, we should be able to have some fun.

Fam's probably going to kill me for suggesting this.

But why don't we just expand EC from being just a clan to being the forum and irc regulars guild? The name itself is already pretty ingrained into the NS community, so we wouldn't be starting a guild out of nothing, we'd be growing a guild out of an already established, user-friendly clan.

Or, with Fam's permission, there could be an ECG - EC Guild.  EC would still be the select clan it is, but it would have an officially sanctioned and semi-associated Guild attached to it.  Anyone can join ECG, but llamas will be given the b00t.
