Mebbe a server op can help
I posted this in the tech support forum, which is useless, cause noone answered except for one other guy whos having the same problem as i am, Anyway, I downloaded the install from fileplanet, i think, and when i connect, it tells me im missing several sprites, and the console overflows with "Unknown Command: ex_maxerrordistance" This is perturbing because it floods the console out and i disconnect cause of "Reliabe Channel Overflow" just like from an extremely long MOTD.

1. Does anyone know why im missing those sprites
2. Is there somewhere i can get them and fix this?
3. Is there any way to get a different install file with all the sprites
4. HELP!

No idea why you would be missing those sprites.

I have a few suggestions though.

    1. If you can make a list of the missing sprites I can zip them up and post a download link for ya.

    2. Did you save your old Config.cfg from 1.04 and paste it into 2.0, I have found that some 1.04 config.cfg get all screwed up in 2.0 its better to just start with a fresh config.

3.I think the overflow is coming from the missing sprites.

    4. Can you post log output so I can see whats going on when you connect ( to do this type log on before connecting to a server or create an autoexec.cfg file in the NS directory and in it type log on)

I see from your Tech Support forum thread (link) that you're installing NS on top of DoD Retail. I have a sinking feeling that's the cause of your problem. There may be a fix...but I don't know what it would be.

Those are CounterStrike sprites...does DoD use those filenames as well?

What's the name of the .exe file that launches DoD? (dod.exe or something other than hl.exe?)
What's the path to the main DoD directory?
Where is NS installed relative to that directory?
What's the full target from your NS shortcut?

Now thats a problem I have been hearing alot of. Using the custom menu to join NS. I have had several of my members that had problems with that. Once they used the short cut the problems stopped.

still happened with the shortcut, this is what it looks like

    "C:\Program Files\Day of Defeat\dod.exe" -game ns -32bpp -nointro -console

I assume the installation went smoothly? No oddities?

If so, I'm out of ideas. I just don't know enough about DoD retail.
