Gwahir, I actually like those names, although in speech I would probably shorten them to one word. The only problem with any kind of non-english naming scheme is the people who just download the game and play it won't know the hell what we're talking about. Having said that, if the current naming system still stands on release, uninitiated players will get confused when you say "There's a Tiny just around the corner, we need heavy firepower and lots of men" They'll think..."But it's only a tiny, must be small, I'll go for it on my own, look it's...aaaaahhhhhhh..."
how about BBM for the tiny? Big Bad Mother-
The scis might call them by latin names, but the grunts will come up with anything semi descriptive, maybe Bob was a marine killed in an early mission and they were like, "Oh bob." Or maybe "Bob" was the codename for the enemy on that early mission and then they ran into a pack of level ones. Or you can just call it a wall climber. A "grunt name" would be short, concise and to the point, i.e. descriptive in english.
It would be cool if in the manual there was something about the different aliens and it had their scientific names and their code names or common names that people could use in game.
Comments
2: support regurgitator
3: aether comminatio (upper air, threat)
4: inanis muto (void, to move)
5: grandis comminatio (big threat)
if you wish to alter the endings so this actually makes latin sense be happy to. My latin is way too old with me caring too little.
That was only part joke....
I think I could get used to some new names:
1: Murus
2: Support
3: Aether
4: Muto
5: Grandis

Marines will make there own names up but I hope they have more imagination than tiny or bob.
