<div class="IPBDescription">No idea on how to use it</div> I'm not sure if this belongs here.....

I know that you can use microphones in the game, but I don't know how to use it. The microphone works well in my computer, but I can't use it in the game.

First off, get the latest drivers for your sound card. For the mic to work you need a full duplex card, so if you have an older card you might not be able to use your mic ingame.

I did have a SoundBlaster 16, running under win98 and the mic never worked, even with the latest drivers, but when I installed XP it worked fine.

Do you have a key bound to it?

Actually, I have no idea on how to install it to the game. I'm not sure if there is something in the manual explaining how to install a mic to the game, but if there is, I couldn't find it.

To get the mic to work ingame, make sure your mic works in windows first <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> . Then run the voice tweak utility (voice_tweak.exe) in your Half-Life folder. If that works then theres a good chance it will work in the game. Once you're happy with the settings in voice tweak, run the game and make sure you actually have a key bound for your mic. That's just about all I think...

Type voice_loopback 1 in the console to hear what you sound like when you speak into the mic. Voice_loopback 0 to turn that feature off.

You can bind a key to the mic either through the config gui in NS or by typing "bind <key of your choice> +voicerecord" in the console.
