About All The New "cs Player" Bashing

I agree with you guys that there are a lot of new idiots. It is amazing. We have to be understanding though and realize that these guys have never played a game like this before. As stated in another thread human evolution isn't ready for NS. Try to work with them, please don't chase them away like NS 1.0 tended to. The game is more complicated than we believe and I hope that we can all try to teach them the best we can. Take a deep breath and repeat after me, "not all cs players are evil".

CS player bashing isn't new. People have been doing it since CS became popular. Generally it's people who left before because the new community and betas suck. Let's all hop on the bandwagon! Bashing stuff that's popular makes you look all cool and rebellious.

bah do not flame. Of course they are new and give them a chance. Don't make it worse by showing how stupid this is becoming. Thanks....

    Heh.

If we teach the new guys how to play properly, politely and as a team from the beginning, what we end up with is a bunch of regular players who are *gasp* polite, skillful and who like to work as a team. Yes, this includes CS players. Abusing them for ramboing won't help, that's all they know how to do. Provide constructive advice, not abuse and insults for having nfi what to do. We were all newbies once. Remember that. Help bring these guys back from the dark side.

eh, If they're cs idiots or idiots in general, treat them like so, but remember this it isn't easy to modify a stubborn person's behavour unless you've got electroshock therapy for them.

Help out noobs when you can, they will ask for help so give them an inch and they take a mile and your pance, but you can get new pance so try to be calm about it.

    BUT

FEEL FREE TO TELL THE 8 YEAR OLD TO SUYF AND STOP TALKING OVER VOICE COMM!
His voice, his annoying voice might cost you your game, or my mind!

The main problem is not that people are new to the game. It's the mentality of individualism that has carried over from CS, and the fact that so many of these new players just refuse to obey orders . Some do learn, that's true, but an annoying number are convinced that they know better and their ""elite" skillz" are more than a match for that onos. So whilst not all CS players are evil, too many of them retain their attitudes from CS.

The answer as I see it is to recruit vast numbers of Chinese and former USSR players. The communal style governments of these nations, with their crushing of individualism in favour of the state is exactly the kind of mindset the TSA soldiers need. In fact, I'm starting to wonder if NS is all a socialist propaganda campaign by Flayra to indoctrinate all marines to communist thought. And look at the way the aliens are portrayed! Slimy, horrific monsters bent on the destruction of mankind, yet these "aliens" have the very democratic individualism that we patriotic westerners are supposed to emulate! I say enough is enough! Join your individualistic alien brothers! Together we can defeat the Red Peril of the TSA!! (Terran Socialist Alliance)

every once in a while I'm feeling generous and I teach someone how to play. So far in 2.0, I haven't. Everyone is new now, and though we have the basics down (such as the class system, and FPRTS generally), it usually helps to just say "try stuff out." It's not like 1.04 where another person on gorge kills the team. In fact, you pretty much CAN'T screw up as a gorge now, and res are personal, so you can't screw up by going any other alien class. You can screw up by going comm, but even here, I've virtually never commed before, so I'd be just as bas as the next guy. I don't know. For now I think we can say "experiment, now is the time to do it"
