Some Balancing Ideas - Gas Masks

In my opinion, the lerks spores ability is too powerful. Considering the aliens start the game with 25 res and they only need 5 more to evolve into a lerk, this means that very early in the game they can begin to fire spore clouds into the marine start. This is devastating for the marines as it is impossible to have ha at that point in the game. Im not suggesting that spores be altered themselves. My idea is that the marines could have a 'gas mask' item that can be handed out my the comm once an armory is built. They would cost 5-10 res and could possibly hamper the marines vision slightly, but they would provide protection from spores (and possibly later in the game provide some protection from acid rocket and xenocide - i.e. inhaling the acids causes damage to the marines)

This is only an idea and i would value any input from other people.

    Spores do 6 damage per second, and are non stackable...

    Like heck are they overpowered....

    They are a nice support attack, they "soften up" targets beforehand, they are already pretty weak.

    Besides, gas masks do exist, its called HA.
